Seems to me like it doesn't really do much and onyl last like 30 seconds... I saw the notes about the reflect part beign possibly broken... How much effect does the defense part actually have?

I had made a macro for it to repeat every 30 sec's. I always use it when pvp'ing against ranged or when the jedi I am hunting gets a wild hair up his/her rear and pulls out a weapon on me.
It has worked for me all the time.

Improved Duelist Stance is a nice little bonus. Not great, but useful.
Of course, anyone who was looking for a defense buff could just pick up basic CoB and get one that's ninety points better at a wopping cost of 17 skillpoints...
I'm slightly annoyed by that, but just ignore me.

the return fire effect does work, just not every time, which i don't think it's supposed to. it says +return fire+ above your head and the combat spam reports some dmg dealt to your attack. i constantly use a recursive stance macro, just have to remember you can't move during the wind-up or it won't execute.

I use it when I'm rooted, to mitigate damage and to return fire. I believe this is what it is supposed to be used for.

I agree. I heard it was very helpful, and to me +160 defense from improved duelist stance seemed VERY nice. In actuality when I used it, I found that it did almost nothing that I could tell. Oh well I use it most of the time just for the hell of it.

I'm constantly moving so that explains why it doesn't seem to stick most of the time... Another weakness for my play style...

For adding to your overall defenses, it most definately worth it. When doing some dueling testing us BH noted that others tend to miss us more with it running. Wish we would have kept the data to back that statement up, but in PvP I think it is a plus to have.

all this is good to know i was wondering abou duel stance myself if it was worth it to use ... another little side note you guys might like if you dont know already if you have Charged shot and a jedi roots you which they seem to be doing alot more, if u do charged shot and your toon still runs at them doing decent damage and if you get the KD all the better gives u a bit more time to avoid any close combat.

I have found that it always reflects25 damage vs. ranged attacks, but never melee.I get hitfor 30-40 less damage against both melee and ranged. Soit works, just maybe not how they intended it to becausethe description says itreflects damage in general. The reflection part itselfisn't worth it, would be nice if it did 50-75 damage. When compared to just the damage you do from anormal attackeven 75 damagewouldn't seem like to much. I use it all the time and it has saved me a lot. But I don't have any healing skills so its probably a lot more benifical to me than it is to others. One of these days I need to find some decent stimpacks since mine are junk now.
