Thread: Melee BH & CL 80

Hi,

I've decided I'm going to respec into a Fencer/BH. I've already thought a lot about it. I know it isn't traditional or the most effective, but it's something I want to do for my own fun.

Anyways, my only concern at this point is if it is possible for me to reach character level 80? I've heard different things about what is required to be CL 80. Does anyone know what the requirement(s) are?

Also, have any of you gone the meleeBH route? I haven't seen a single one on my server post CU. Is this for good reason?

Another thing I'm curious about is if I'm not able to reach level 80, will being grouped with a level 80 matter? I know it does in PvE for XP purposes, pulling missions, and such...but will it make any difference in PvP for damage?

Any help with any of the above questions is appreciated.

Mastering 2 elite professions is the easiest way to CL80. You should be there with MFencer and MBH.

As far as MFencer/MBH, dunno how well it'll work. Let us know and good luck to you..

Well I believe its something like one master and 4 complete rows of any other profession(s). So like invest 4(1 row), master fencer, tk4404(3 rows) would yield a level 80. Not entirely sure on this but it kinda makes sense. If this is the case I may go back and try mbh/doc4000/3 rows of ranged. Anyway u can check that out and post back on whether that did it or not lol.

As far as I understand, CL 80 requires two Elite Master Boxes. My guess is that you'll end up somewhere in the mid-seventies no matter what you do, if you don't Master BH. Of course, if you're not using ranged, MBH is a total waste. CL 80, or actually useful skills.. I personally would go for the actually useful skills and mods.

Again, this is not true. I've heard of many templates, including my own that have reached level 80 with a single mastery.

I got impatient and decided to just respec to the least amount of lines I was planning on, six, and just see what the worst that could happen was. Well, I'm at level 71 now. I'm going to grind up investigation xp and get the top box of investigation. I'll see where that puts me. IfI'm still is too far from 80, I'll have to grind out some swords xp. Oh well.

I am incredibly pleased to hear that I'm wrong. Keep us posted on how this works out for you.

With the current flavour of TC havinf bluefrogs, why oh why don't people test their templates there?

And I mean actually go hunting with it, and see if you can find some bugs at the same time?

I use TC as a proving ground whenever the frogs are up. When I get TC-Prime back I can play with my real chars again.

Sidenote.... really getting PO'd with this constant dropping of TC-Prime.

There currently aren't any frogs up on TC. I made this decision a few days ago. I've been quite eager to get started hunting. I'd rather play around with trial and error than wait for the next TC that might have a blue frog. Grinding isn't that difficult. I don't mind doing it.

I know that will do it, but I was planning on only mastering fencer and actually getting the minimum amount of BH, 3000.

I've heard that before too. Is it definitely not possible to do with 6 or 7 rows? I'm curious what that magic number is to reach level 80. I have different templates in mind for if it is6, 7, or 8 rows. Does anyone know for sure what I need?
