I'm a MBH/MP/and some combat medic, and I was totally owned by my mark who used a rifle on me. I was using all kinds of food and spice buffs, and I'm fairly confident when I start to fight a mark. Any kind of tactic I should be using against a template like this? Or should I just consider it a fluke?

How much was his mission worth?
He may have been a partially templated jedi that still had master rifles. The worst case scenario is probably that he has master rifles & the jedi healing branch.
That would hurt.

Yea he was healing, so you might be right about that. The missions was worth 116k.

Yes....due to our pathetic damage with lightsabers many Jedi have taken up "alternative" weapons. Add the fact that normal weapons cost no force, which leaves more for healing, and you are in for a tough fight.

I believe that a master rifle + 444x defender + 3xxx heal + xxx3 enhancer is the most powerful Jedi possible. Back when I used that template during my grinding days, I killed both BHs and full template Jedi with ease.

Currently Mpowers + Mdef + 3000 healing + 0002 Enh and I use rifles or carbines for any tough fight due to the high cost of force powers. The damage is low....but with a full template force pool I can tank forever. PvP might be a little different due to them healing also, but I wouldn't know since they won't hunt me
. But I can see a jedi with thetemplate you listed being insanely hard to kill.

And thanks to some rifles *cough* laser rifle *cough* that only have a CL requirement jedi can use them even after having to drop all normal professions. That, along with the other replies, is why you will come up against a lot of jedi using rifles.

You mean sort of how you can use stopping shot with a rifle? Give it a break, they put things like that in so that people actually had a choice in what weapons to use instead of whatever weapon was given to you in the master box. And I'm sorry....but the damage on a laser rifle in the hands of a Jedi with nothing butjedi skills is pathetic (lower then our lightsaber base attack), sodon't pretend we are suddenly uber when we pick up a rifle. It's the templates like the one stated above that are dangerous. My template would end in a stalemate at best against any decent BH, as I would never be able to outdamage thier heals using only a rifle. Now add in some force powers every once in a while and it might be a different story

usually a jedi with rifles will still take good dmg from you shoting. I've been killed by a jedi with healing and master rifles before, but i used a bombdroid in the middle of the fight and hit him with a critical shot when the bombdroid blew up to finish him off. I keep a droid in my inventory ready to go for missions like this.

Your argument loses ALL credibility when you use those stimpacks without points in medic.
