I know there's another thread on Jedi and the PVP already, but i thought i would try and start a constructive thread without flames Anyhow, i posted my ideas the other day in core systems regarding the general state of PVP, and how i believe the main problem lies not between players of different professions, but between those who prefer to PVE and those who prefer PVP. IE, the PVP game is let down to accomodote those PVE players. I dont see why however, that everyone shouldnt be able to play to the games fullest potential. The idea revolves around the introduction of 'pvp specials' over and above the current specials, and would be useful serving a pvp end game for the GCW.

and the Jedi part is posted below

One idea i had to balance this, and discourage "general" use of these extra powers, is similar to the extra pvp layer mentioned in my first post. For jedi wishing to partake in PVP, they may train certain specials in the pvp jedi tree. The new pvp jedi specials could also be more powerful than the current jedi specials to allow for balance with the penalty. They would also be more powerful than the regular combatprofessions "pvp specials".These specials could only be used PVP and would initiate aspecial timed BH mission that would result in askill boxbeing lostifa BHwas successful in this time frame.

IE if a jedi CHOSE to use one of these pvp specials, a mission would be placed on the BH board with a 1hour countdown timer. The timer will only count down when the jedi is NOT in a house / cantina / kashyyyk, to prevent any 'easy ways out'. As in the current system, up to 5 BH would be able to take the mission. If any one of these BH were successful while the timer>0, the jedi would lose a jedi skill box. It might be better for the penalty to be the loss ofall the 'extra' PVP skills, with a high XP requirement, so that the PVE game is not affected. Once the timer reaches 0, the mission would be removed from the terms. This mission would be independant of any 'visibility' listed mission for the same jedi.

The other non-pvpjedi specials will always be available without penalty , and all these specials would be balanced to allow jedi templatesto be equal to a regular level 80 combat template. The regular specials would not be nerfed against PVE.

Sticking with my original philosophy, everyone wins. Jedi get to participate in PVP if they desire, at an equal level to everyone else. They also get to be uberand more powerful in PVP if they accept the risks involved. Regular professions get to play on an equal playing field. The GCW becomes more fun and everyone wins. Also,SOE wins coz less people quit.

not a bad idea but if you chang it so the jedi once killed cant do pvp till he retrains the pvp exp that will cut the number of jedi in pvp as well

I like both ideas, this provides a relief for those non-jedi and offers jedi a way to enter the GCW without the GCW outcome depending on who has the most jedi. It would be nice to see more GCW going on and without 50 friggin glowsticks buzzing all over the place, I mean there is life beyond jedi!
