Saturday night.... after cruising around the MOP looking for a brawl and finding none, I decided to call up the Bounty Hunter's guild and see if they had any work for me. I landed in Kaadara and noted that it seemed slower than normal for Bounty Hunter City. I pulled a mission from the terminal, stopped by for the bio signature, got while waiting for my droid to track the mark, I introduced the Rebels in the city to my rifle.
My datapad beeped, and upon checking it I headed off to Mos Ari, Tatooine. "great.... desert, this Jedi's gonna pay for making me get sand in my armor", I thought as I landed in Bestine. I sent out a seeker to update the marks location, and shuttled into the Mos Ari with no armor on, just street clothing, no weapons visible. Apparently, during the shuttle ride, the mark decided to come back to the city, because when I landed, there he was, standing near the shuttle, running his mouth.
Not wanting to tip my hand, I started a conversation with an aquaintance in another group, and examined my mark. He was a former melee artist with a combat level of 56... "poor guy, won't know what hit him", I thought.
Eventually, the Jedi took off for, what I assume to be a mission, and I gave chase on foot. After 700m or so, the tracker indicated the Jedi had reached his apparent destination. When I entered visual range, still wearing no armor, no weapons visible, I was given a cursory glance by the Jedi's companions and invited to join in for "some grinding". I respectfully declined, but knowing one of them, I decided to "stay" and chat. This Jedi was a fool.... he was taking on dewbacks far over his current combat level and he wasn't doing well at all. When I though his health had deteriorated enough, I pulled up my rifle, and flat backed him in one hit. I calmly walked over and began to slit his throat. At the last possible second, the Jedi batted my hand away, sprung up and knocked me down.
"ah..... a fighter.... poor sap" I stood up, dusted off my clothing, and grinned at him before I opened fire. The ensuing fight was fast and viscious. I wanted a challenge, and killing a defenseless new Padawan while fully armored and under the influence of food, drink, and spices would not have provided that. I decided to keep my distance and keep my armor off, while I did take a few things to help with concentration, constitution, and speed.
After a few futile minutes and the Jedi fell to my superior weaponry..... again. This time, it was his last. Apparently he had been incapacitated by the dewbacks prior to my arrival, since I had only knocked him out twice. He was a corpse before his limp body hit the sand, when he became one with the force.... there wasn't even an imprint on the sand.
He fought valiantly, but in the end, it simply was not good enough, but he did provide me with the funds for some good "entertainment" in a local cat house, just past the Mos Eisely cantina....
