Thread: yet another template question...

tka 4/0/0/4 meditation and defense acuity trees

fencer 2/0/4/0 range/melee defense and dodge/defense trees

pikeman 0/0/4/0 defense tree

master swordsman

either novice medic with a few more points thrown in or novice scout with the rest of m points used.


Reasoning behind design, maxing out primary and secondary defenses and mutiple damage types.

Hello. I've been a master fencer since september and decided I will never drop it. So, since then, I've been playing with templates to suit my needs. Currently, my build is all PVE so I can get myself some more acklay bones and NS loots solo. Now I've got3 ideas for a new template with my main focus on pvp but want to be capable in pve with friends. Option 1-Master Fencer/Master Pistoleer/0-0-4-0 smuggler/4-0-0-3 TKA. Option 2-Master Fencer/shock trooper/4-3-0-4 TKA. Option 3-Master Fencer/Master Doc/1-0-0-0 Scout. Option 1 is probably my favorite because of the ability to attack kiters with a nice geno blaster. Although I'd be able to heal states and keep myself up with Option 3, my defenses aren't close to what I've been used to. I like my current build alot, but I'm tired of chasing all these rifleman from one end of the map to the other to land a few hits. Currently Master Fencer/Master Swordsman/4-0-0-4 TKA/2-1-3-0 Medic. I'd appreciate any input you may have, and I apologize for redundant topic.

Master Rifleman

Master TKA


Fencer 4040 (defence lines)


Marksman 4004

Brawler 4400



Ok, so it's a bit of a defence stacker, but it also gets meditate and some nove close combat abilities (TKA is great for PVE). Master rifleman seems more or less essential for PVE, but does anyone have thoughts on whethor I've made myself inviable by not having master marksman (that extra +10 rifle accuracy), or medic (are heals still important?) or selections from pikeman/swordsman (dizzy/stun/kd defence+?).

Prety much anything that involves this combo is good

As a MR, you won't really need all of the Ranged Support line. I'd recommend keeping the first box and using the rest of your skill points for the second line in Fencer(more great defenses! )

And the +5 speed isn't totally neccessary either., or medic (are heals still important?) Yes, heals are important, but TKA will be all you need as far as healing goes outside of combat. For when in-combat and in need of healing, just keep some food/drink ready. Armor will help too- either some Ubese or Chitin. or selections from pikeman/swordsman (dizzy/stun/kd defence+?). I think your status defenses will be good enough. You also have that +96 Defensive Acuity, don't forget




I've personally done the MR/TKM template before(was my first one! ) and it's tons of fun. Good luck with it.

ok....im now TKM/BH 3040/Pistoleer 0/0/4/0.....i FINALLY dropped all ranged...but i could not take it anymore....so here is my question...should i stay where i am and have the ability to go ranged if needed? or drop BH pistols and pick up the last tree in pistoleer? or drop pistoleer altogether and pick up footwork in fencer? your thoughts...

its nice for the torso shot i guess, and the kd defense in pistoleer, but u cant heal..?

true...i cant heal with either setup...but i think it offeres the best defences...im just trying to see what others people's success is with this.

I am BH 3000, TKM, Pistols 0043 (soon to be 0044) and I love the template. I had the same template as you but dropped the BH pistols because I never used it.

Greetings!


First let me apologize in advance for yet another template question...although I guess that's what these forums are for...


Ok....here is my planned template:


MLS - an obvious necessity according to every post I've read

3xx4 Heal - another obvious necessity

4xx2 Enhancer - would prefer not to have this but again seems necessary

and either...

44xx Powers - I definately want lightning as a killing blow and animal attack seems like a useful and cool power to have

or...

4xx4 Powers - again lightning but I have read many places that lightning is really effective when an opponent is KD'd so it seems to make sense to have Force KD...however...I can't get a good read as to whether or not Force KD is a good and effective power to have


Iam hoping to grab something to compliment lightning well...


Any thoughts and/or advice would be most appreciated!!!

k 1st of all if u ever plan on pvp u must have 4xxx heal to be sucessful. Secondly, whay do u need forcekd? saberthrow3 (u get it at mls) is area kd. powers are cool, but currently they arent worth much imo. i'm xx4x powers, and as nice as it is to have area intim its not as nice as if i had some, say, defender. too bad im several million xp in the hole atm lol
