I used to be able to pvp pre-cu as a normal toon, I do pretty well on my jedi post-cu, but still, even now, I haven't gotten used to the CU.
I'm MBH/Mcarbineer/cm 0004. Whenever I fight, I had a 85 SAC carbine, and my action would drain relatively fast. And then my mind would drain also, and I don't know how.
I don't really know what to ask, tips or something, but I have trouble taking anything above 200k. MY mind just goes poof (I used breath of heaven, crispic, canape, and booster blue) and I can't keep the heals up because of armor break.
Oh my help me.

Smugglers can now slice against armor break. If you get the loot you can resist armorbreak 75% of the time, but the lootless slice gives you a 25% resistance to it.
But if you are taking on high level jedi they are tough to beat...they probably are using sap on you to drain your mind and action faster. I suggest using some powerups that reduce your SAC, as well as Mandolorian wine with some won won.

Also, check your SEAs.I know they were messed around a bit at CU.
Particularly for healing, make sure you have the Healing Efficiency mod, I'm not sure that any of theother pre-CUmods work.
(I should probably check the Doc or Tailor forums before I speak... (see sig))

It's all about the Ruby and Stim Ds my friend.
I myself recently noticed a problem in my fight style. As a MCM I was relying on my ability to heal myself to "take the inital 1 minute of damage". So while I was using Ruby Bile, I was rarely using my stims...that didn't make much sense. NOW I alternate between bactshot and a stim. Now I have twice the mind and action I did before. I hit the Jedi with thyroid and Trama, both DOTS, and I stand there waiting for the Jedi to "wear themselves out of both action and mind"....then comes the counter attack. Now that I'm making more use of my stims...I have a lot more to fight back with. The speed and accuracy are HORRIBLE for my template...and I thought a speed pup would help me out...nope. I got my speed on my scatter down to .9, but all that did was lower my action in the blink of an eye. Now I use a damage pup, and my speed is still "okay" at 1.8. I do more damage but slower, so this allows for more time for my DOTS to be effective, while my hits are harder. I've never had a template that compliments my fighting style like the one I have now. Half the MCM specials are a 50/50 chance that they will actually work (they DO stick, but I may not see them do what they are suppose to do), and we have a very worthless Master skill....it's still a tough profession to use (and get used to), but live or die, I have a great time with this combination.

Food and spice for the action problem. As for pvp you are crowd control use it don't let that jedi near you 35m is the max a jedi can attack with any specal, next AOE so watch out for mobs, if all else fails you can spam supression fire all day and he won't be able to move. Next you got bomb driods a good 56+ and knockdown = 1k + hit. And don't forget your melee defense foods, dodge foods, etc. etc.

bump for more help from friendly people.
And, my breath of heaven + vagernerian combo gives 250+ to mind and action regen I think, on top of doc buffs and booster blue.

ya i'd recommend using just rangedshot as your default attack while you wait for them to wear themselves out, it costs way less action. also stims don't use any pool points so use them as frequently as possible
