no chance to easly exploited with out a VIs system then everyone would have to be brought up to our level. (if they already arent). although i would LOVE a proper bounty system to come in
I doubt it. Player initiated bounties open up too much on an opportunity for griefing to go on.
Say I have a ton of money and I don't like you. I will offer 10mil to be paid in 1mil increments for killing you 10 times.
Way back when, Green Marine proposed an 'elective' visibility system for smugglers that would have made for a stellar player bounty system.
Basically, there were two types of smuggler missions you could take, those that would add vis if you failed, and those that wouldn't.
If you were up to the possibility of landing on the terminals, take the vis missions. Simple yet effective.
Will we ever see it in action? Don't hold you breath.
I thought that smuggles were getting something like this.
I cound be wrong, but the posts there made it sound like rangers and BH will both be able to hunt smugglers

Okay, I can probably get enough of a running start.
It'd be great for smugglers to have the optional "visability" missions. They should be the equivalent (or slightly harder) to BH NPC missions.
But, there should be optional "criminal empire" missions anyone can do. Less payout, more just "go and kill, bring back x" than anything intracate, but allows everyone to get in on the "fun".
Of course, I hope that after the GCW gets a revamp, we can see something devoted to "sub alegances" where you can be rebel, neutral or Imperial in the GCW but can take on certain criminal aspects... of course, Imperials should probably be aligned with the "powers that be"... but hey, we have imperial smugglers.

last i heard the idea was optional. a smuggler does smuggler missions where he getsa NPC BH after him if he wish's to do really really challengeing and highly rewarding stuff he gets a PC bh after him
