What it says on the tin really.
I hear alot has changed since I left. I'm assuming my houses and posessions have all dissapeared I hope my toons are still there though.
A few questions off the top of my head:
Doc buffs have changed i hear, how do u prepare for the hunt now?
Are ranged Bounty Hunters more viable against Jedi?
WIll my armour and weapons be useless now after CU?
How does this respec thing work? (assuming I get one)
Anything u can think of to help and old BH get back in the thick of things will be much appreciated.
Cheers
Doc buffs are now pretty lame, 20% regen to action/health and a 20% increase in attack speed is the best you can hope for. Now the way forward is food...get some bofa treats/blob candy and canape for the health/action regen increase...and some ruby bliel so you can use stims every 30 seconds. Then get some 1100+ stims (by the crate) and you should be set.
Ranged BH's seem more viable to me, but I'm ranged so I would say that...means you can root/ kite/ snare etc and the jedi will have a harder time closing to melee range.
Depends what armour you had befoe youi left...BH get comp armour and riflemen get recon...recon is better for defence against LS as they now do energy damage. You can re-fit your armour if its still there anyway, so you'll have something to start you off.
Respec works by allowing you to drop skills you have and skill up in boxes you didn't...so if you have some melee for eg you can drop them and skill up in pistols instead...but only once so be sure what your doing before you do it!
Thats about the lot I think...sure some others have ideas to help you out...and good luck on the hunt...enjoy the last week of BH before we become toothless.
A lot will depend on what your template is now. If it is pretty full, you will be able to use respec to get a template that will work with the cu. Read the sticky about BH templates to get some ideas, but ensure you keep MBH as the next publish will move player bounties into MBH, from inv3.
You will receive 3 weeks of respec. Use it by typing /respec, and then dropping skill boxes you no longer want and using the points this gives you to select new ones. You can use this respec once a day for 3 weeks.
Point worth noting, the pre-requisites for BH are now only Scout 4xxx, Marsman xxx4. Be aware however, that whatever elite weapons prof you want to have, you will still need the appropriate line in Marksman. ie rifles line to go Master Rifleman, etc. There are several good templates, each one good for a different playstyle.
Stims can now be used by anybody without needing medic skills, but can only be used every 60 secs
Doc buffs now only increase ur stats by around 10%. Foods are now needed (different ones from before) to prepare for combat. Check out posts on food to get an idea of which ones do what.
Only the Health bar is now reduced by damage. Action and Mind are only reduced by specials and healing respectively.
Your armour will still work, but it may not be the type you want anymore. Armour is now split into 3 cats: Recce, Battle, Assault. Recce is good against energy dam, Assault is good against kinetic dam and Battle is balanced for both. Comp counts as Assault armour. The Elite combat professions give the certifications to wear armour. Bh gives assault cert, Carbines gives battle cert, rifles and pistols give recce cert. For reference, saber damage is energy.
Your weapons will have been converted during the CU, so look at each one carefully, as some conversions are brilliant, whilst others are crap. Weapons now have a Combat Level requirement for use, and a few are still tied to a skill box, but most are not.
Combat level ranges from 1-80, and is based on how many combat skill boxes you have. The difference in CL between you and an opponent will affect damage done in both directions, so it is effectively just a dam modifier.
Finally, ranged combat is now the ideal way to take on anybody in PvP, especially jedi. The various ranged profs have a variety of roots, snares, KD's to keep a melee opponent at bay.
Important point to note. All ranged special attacks can be done with any ranged weapon. ie pistol specials can be done with a rifle or carbine.
