jedi grinding in itself is far easier now than pre curb, join a group if a bher comes for you most likely by the time the first hunter caps you, you'll have gained 2* as much as you lost so still being in the positive.

Well, thanks for the compliment. As for my account, I'll be honest. I was thinking e-bay for a while there, but then a few things convinced me otherwise:

1) I hate e-bay Jedi. You want a Jedi, unlock one yourself.

2) I have more respect for the character that I spent two years creating than to just let someone else take over him. Desceron's been my most successful RP character ever, I'd hate to just give him up.

3) As broken as the game is for me right now (due to a glitch I'm equally useless in space since my guns don't work), I do know that on the off chance they actually fix it, I'd be right back in the thick of things, so I'd like my character to still be there if SOE does something right for a change...

" nice post, jedi got to adapt now to the changes, the wayjedi played before was much easier, now its much harder and come publish 19 the knights will feel the heat. "

I've heard that one too... well, I suppose it's true, but I still refuse to have a light lightning cannon shoved up my ass just to advance my Jedi. Maybe that means this game isn't for me anymore, but I somehow don't think I'm alone with this opinion. Hell, if I could just wear that Dark Jedi Knight flag, I'd have no complaints about being hunted.

"jedi grinding in itself is far easier now than pre curb, join a group if a bher comes for you most likely by the time the first hunter caps you, you'll have gained 2* as much as you lost so still being in the positive. "

That depends. If you grind on Kashyyyk, I suppose that's true, but, as you've probably gathered from my above responses, I'm not really on good grounds with SOE at the moment. They're not getting another penny of my money until I see improvements, and as such wookie-world is currently off-limits to me. Another thing to consider is that that opinion was formulated during double XP and respec time. Now that double XP is off, I've actually heard from my friends who do grind off of Kashyyyk it's rather hard to get a net positive gain after the BH death. And as for my own experience, if I had the option to go back and grind Pre-CU, you bet I'd take it. Why? Let's take a look-see:

Pre-CU: 100k XP made in about two weeks of two-hour a day grind sessions. Two non-BH deaths resulted in a 10k XP loss.

Post-CU: 0 XP made in five attempts to grind.

Despite fighting creatures at a lower level than I am I have thusfar been completely unable to kill anything that would give me even a single point of XP due to astronomical force costs (remember, I have a tiny force bar right now) for even a default saber swing, low saber damageand a complete and utter lack of defenses. If I didn't have Master Doctor I would've died at least three times post-CU. As it stands I've had to make a tactical withdrawl (read: Book it for the speeder and high-tail it outta there)in each of those 5 attempts. What's worse is due to said force costs I can't even stay in combat with a low-level creature for more than about 20-25 swings. After that my character just stands there looking like an idiot because he forgot how to swing a lightsaber while he waits for his force bar to regen very, very slowly...

Does that sound easier to you?

no i'm not talking kash, i'm talking getting a group together, i was grinding last nite in a group of 8 there were 4 jedi in the grind group each of them was making in excess of 150k xp an hour. we were at it for 3 hours before the first bher attacked a jedi in the group, who the jedi dispatched with ease.

Your Jedi might be outside what I would consider "Low-level Jedi" who are the ones who are really suffering right now. Once you get some defender and healer on board I hear it's not so bad, but until you do you are dogmeat. Do you, by chance, know their templates?

I fully understand where you are coming from Darkknight. Well written post.

I also appreciate that Jedi can make reasonably good experience in a group. But there are those of us (fewer than I'd like) that agree with you Bounty Hunters that we shouldn't be seen. We should be off alone in the wilderness making our progression.

I'm a Jedi, and I hate seeing Sabre fights at starports, getting randomly wound healed by someone when running through town, or going to Dantooine and seeing groups of 8 Jedi going crazy on a Bol lair. It ruins the immersion for me too.

The sad thing is, I've done it too. Because simply, there is no other way

"Since the CU I have not gained a single point of XP." - O.P.

Lies, you get 1 point of XP even for each grey-con creature you kill.

You should feel comforted though, because I think group members shouldn't give you vis either. I believe it is something SOE will be fixing shortly, but in the meantime there isn't much you can do. Just how I would like some thingsfixed, but in the meantime there is nothing I can do about it but wait.

Group members giving vis is a tough one. It still will result in a LOT more Jedi group grinding on Dant. They need a solution that basically lets a Jedi solo PvE content alone. Exp shouldn't be as fast as a group (grouping should be risky) but it should be possible.

I've suggested a Padawan/Master group where two Jedi can group, one gets 125% exp, the other 75% exp and no visibility but something is needed.

I'll tell you what the reward is, having the best character in the game when you are done grinding. If you are so scared to get killed or so against the system, dont play. this game isnt a job nor is it something we have to do.

from talking with them master lightsabre is a must because of the area attacks, anything else is secondary because it all dies so fast.

Not all BH's are 12-year-old-respecers... just wanted to get that off my chest. As for your rant, I would not consider a rant at all. It is true SOE has treated the jedi unfairly. But I think their mistake was made when they gave everyone a holocron and told them how to become a jedi. Jedi should be able to grind in peace, and pre-cu it was in fact possible.

But now after the combat update it is literally impossible. I am sorry to hear that you are frustrated and are disappointed by another broken proffesion. I too experienced this during the early days of the BH grind. SOE has done a good job of created a unenjoyable game, and is one reason I will be leaving very very shortly.

The "fun" that once exsited from "living" in the Star Wars Universe is now gone, and from a RP point of view, completely destroyed when over 1000 people became jedi and started showing off their powers in public with no or little consequence. All in all no one is to blame for the coruption of this game and the downfall of its content except the devolpers and overseers of the game.

But with the CU, SOE DID pull a fast one on all the newbie Jedi. Their statement was something along the lines of "From Jedi Initiate to the Knight trials, Jedi is primarily a PvE profession. From Knight onwards, it is mostly PvP. Padawans will only be hunted by Bounty Hunters if they are careless." OK, that sounds good, I can deal with that. But then the CU came along and *poof* goes that illusion. See, for those of you who haven't heard yet, low-level Jedi can't solo anymore. Not "It's very slow," not, "It's very hard," but quite simply "It's not possible." The contract I signed was "I'll get hunted if I screw up," not "I'll get hunted if I want to advance in Jedi." So those of you who are saying that Jedi agreed to get hunted when we unlocked, do shut up. If I ever reach the knight trials, I accept that I am fair game to any opposed knight, spec force member or bounty hunter who wants a crack at me, but until that time I should not be penalized for simply wanting to advance in my profession.

This is where you are wrong. You can solo and you can get jedi exp.. you might have to split some of that exp with med xp or non jedi weapons xp but you can solo. Thelower levelboxesare only 20k xp. You can grind that solo if you do it right, but it will take a while. See the thing is that a level 20 jedi gets much less xp killing level 16 mobs than he would killing level 80 mobs in a group. The Jedi CHOOSES to grind level 80 mobs in a group. What you are saying is that it is impossible to grind to full template in 2-3 weeks WITHOUT EXPLOITING and that is the way it SHOULD be.
