Thread: any tips for a rookie BH?

hey bounty hunters, I'm new to this, just got novice BH with no other elite profs. Was wonderin what a good BH template is, specifically to hunt jedi. I was thinking MBH/Mdoc b/c of the doc's defense bonuses, but i don't know much about all the specials and BH favorite attacks and what skill they are in, so any advice or thoughts are appreciated.

i'm MBH/MRM/CM4000 and its a pretty good template even for non-jedi missions too. also don't train any investigation until you max out your bh xp cuz you'll be able to train inestigation 1 and 2 and be half way to 3. you might think its slower that way be believe me its not.

I'm only 2433 in BH so far, but I've been doing my research all along the way.
For templates, read the latter half of the BH Templates discussion at the top of the forum. Its long, but you'll have a good idea of what you want after that. You may pick up a few goodtips for that template too.I went BH/CM because I also like healing, but CM has nice specials to use against Jedi. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=393956
Get to a nice mid-to-high level before taking bounties, which usually means grinding out BH 0444 or at least something close to that while getting to a nice spot on your other elite prof too. I started at CL40 and have had lots of success.
Once you start doing bounties, earning points for the investigation tree, do it until you cap on BH xp. You'll want to do this because beginner bounties always give you a mark who's on the same planet as you. This means you'll complete them and gain xp much faster than you will at higher levels. You should be able to grind enough xp for 2.5 skill boxes in the investigation tree before you cap. Get an entertainer's inspiration boost before you go. It's a long grind and every point helps. I did my first grind out of mos eisley and am doing the rest of my grind on naboo.
Once you get that far, you'll probably figure out that you'll need to start using droids. You want to buy Akaryd (sp?) droids and seeker droids.... in large quantities.
This is just some regurgitated info from the great guides on the top of the forums. Spend some time reading them.

I got a tip for you.
Unless they changed it for the love of god DO NOT TRAIN IN INVESTIGATION 1 until you have capped investigatin XP or have enough for Investigation II as you will learn to regret it.

MBH,MR and 4000 CM or MBH,Mpistol and 4000 CM if you like use pistol and like to use a scatter.

I am a mbh/mpist/4000 cm and its pretty good for pve or pvp.Now I tell you the full tempt jedi in my guild never worry about any bh unless they are coming as a mbh/mcm/ with any ranged elite
