Thread: Just read this on the Ranger forum, Dev posted.

I was going to suggest this because ranger takes up so many skill points, that having it, and having a combat prof mastered leaves you 4 SP, which you can't do anything with. It would be nice to either A) get a bonus out of my ranger skills, or B) take away the master scout requirement for ranger, allowing us enough skill points to get some healing abilities.
Ranger prerequisites are also changing. In addition to get a full set of combat mods comparable to other combat professions you will only be required to have 2 novice skill branches to earn Novice Ranger, similar to Bounty Hunter, Squad Leader or Commando. We are currently looking at setting the Ranger prerequisites to Scout - Exploration 4 and Marksman - Carbines 4.
That was posted by Keldarin. For all us Carbine BH, this would allow up to 3 full branches and the first box of the 4th branch in ranger(at the cost of all healing aside from Stim Ds, though). I don't know that I'll go that high in it, but I might seriously consider dropping CM down to just some medic and then invest in a tree or two from ranger. While still only being developed, it's an exciting prospect for myself as a Carbineer/BH.
This was just added to the thread by TH.
For the sake of discussion, modern Rangers oftencarry carbines. Its traditionally used as a support weapon.

Which begs the question. Will the Rangers get a profession specific weapon(carbine) at Master Ranger.
I hope so, for my alts sake. Theres still a lack of high end carbines compared to Pistoleer - Rifleman.
