Thread: Thrill of the chase (and how to end it after 4 hours)

Greetings

I'm a fairly recent MBH/MRifl with Pistols 0/0/0/1 and some normal medic.

Yesterday I had *tons* of fun on a hunt.

Got the mission, arrive at my target, start the fight....alpha strike fails...

Neither of us can seem to get the upper hand. I could easily heal from the damage being done to me, and it seems the same was true of the jedi.

Now how this fight was different was that I didn't really feel in danger of dying , since the damage output of this jedi was rather low. I also don't think this jedi was very afraid of dying either since my damage just didn't seem to cut it.

So this is what happened: we would fight for maybe 20-30 minutes, then he would run/force run get on a speeder just long enough to get force back (I gather he was doing it for force and maybe redoing his food and all).

Now with my template I've got knockdown, root and snare, which I was trying to use (in retrospect maybe I didn't use snare enough) . I was definetly cycling KD and root as much as possible but he always seem to get away.

I could stop him a bit with root KD, then unequip weapon and burst run after him, but once all those timers were used....he managed to get his force back until I caught up on the speeder.

So here are my questions:

- Any recommendations on how to prevent this cycle from repeating itself, especially the running away on the speeder part hehe?

- What's up with Parwan Nutricake? I'm really not clear on it, should it give me burst run as soon as I eat it? Does it just reduce the burst run timer? It seems sometimes I'll get a insta burst run, other times not....

- I'm using crispic / deuterium pyro as needed, anything else I can do to help my damage?

For info, I'm using a Trandoshan rifle with a powerup for 750-1200 damage. Maybe it's time i go kinetic or elemental....

As a new BH, it was nice to see we can have a huge chase with people following us etc etc and still there was not a rude word exchanged , we kept it for the fight

Btw if the jedi in question reads this: I had TONS of fun and still got your mission hehe! Hope to catch you again tonight.

I'll thank all the "you should of just given up" or "You should just switch templates" posters to refrain from their usually constructive posts.

Try the kinetic or elemental weapons out, it should help.

1) Keep them snared at all times.
2) Blow up their speeder.
3) Only use KDs when they run, if you know you don't need them otherwise.

Thanks for the reply,

Bumpage because i'm also curious about the Parwan Nutricake question....

Basically , If i use normal burst run, the effect wears off, and I eat Parwan Nutricake, should it give me burst run speed right away or is it really just a timer reduction thing?

If you eat a Parwan, you get instant burst run. So only eat it once your first BR runs out.

You need Parwan with at least a 100% burst run recovery. What this allows is you to take Parwan back, to back, to back, to back as needed.....assuming you have the stomach capacity for it and the chef who made it kept the stomach fill on the Parwan to 25 or less. This Parwan requires a different BE tissue additive to make than the normal nutrition additive most chef's use. That particular BE additive is not used much as it takes milk to make it, lots of milk, which is typically the hardest organic (and most expensive) for us chef's to get.

Also, I find for me....I start with Parwan....I make sure I am running already then I hit the Parwan in my hot key....BOOM, off you go....if your chasing a jedi as soon as your burst drops you can BOOM eat another one and off you go again. Rinse and repeat. In the case of your battle description you may not need defense foods, etc... so leaving your stomach empty for parwan might be a good bet. If the jedi is only running to regen his force....and you can keep up with him much longer than expected...it might be the benefit you needed, and suprise, to finally take him out/drain his force pool.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for that reply Mr. Chef

I was wondering if my experiences were due to lag or me not understanding something.

Yeah I probably bought the cheapest parwan nutricake available, hence my problems with it not always kicking in right away.

So if I understand right, Parwan with a burst recovery of 100 and over should allow me to eat cake after cake and keep up with jedi that run away. Of course, that's if I don't get the bug that the other poster mentionned , but we got to live with those sometimes.

I'm glad , with this information, what happened to me yesterday would of ended with a dead Jedi and my bank account a little more full.

Well looks like some more shopping for me!

Thanks again.
