Hello folks,

I know this has been posted before, just hoping to get some rock solid answers before I try it. Saw Hooey-Pooeys post about the INV branch, and it listed how to jam an uplink. I remember also reading about having a 4 person team to do this I.E. Bio-Engineer BH and 2 more. Any help on this would be appreciated. I am currently halfway thru INV 3 (My last tree for MBH) and was just wondering if anyone does this??

Before I log I would like to say thanks to this board. I am real close to MBH and don't want to play any other class. The information and humor on this board has kept me grinding away for the title of Mastr Bounty Hunter. Thanks for any help

To jam it you need a Bio engineer (they got the hard job) a smuggler, a Bounty hunter and a commando (also someone to flip another switch i "think"). Then ya gotta sit around for ten min making sure an overt doesnt change the process and screw you voer. At the end of that 1k invest xp and a somewhat lacking fireworks display.

yeah with all the effort and time it takes to jam an uplink its not worth it.at level 3 in investigation you could easily get the 1k xp by just killing three marks.

To jam an Uplink you need no one but a Inv II BH. To destroy a faction base is an other story, but jamming the uplink is the first step. You can do this and bug and still get the XP. You get the XP when you jam the uplink, not when the base is destroyed.

What you would need is a player base of the opposing faction and it vulnerability window. During that time, go overt, go to the uplink terminal and use the radial menu. Select Jam Uplink. You will then play a game of high/low to "narrow the band". You have to do this twice. Once you are successful you will get an onscreen message that Uplink has been jammed and be awarded (when I did it) 1000 Investigation XP.

Considering you can make the same XP in 3 or 4 missions now and that there will be PC, NPC and possibly Turrets guarding the base, it doesn't make much sense to jam an Uplink solely for XP.

How does one find out the Window of vulnerbility for the base? I know the player placed ones are kept secret. But what about the GCW ones? Such as the Rebel one on Rori?

Because on TC it is bugged apparently...

I would like to do this once as well. Just to say I did it.

I can find a BE and a Smuggler from my Guild. The Commando, well I'd have to ask around.

Any member of a faction can get the venerablity window of a player base for that faction. As a covert imp you can walk right into another imp guild's detachment HQ and get the window from the base terminal and vice versa. So to get the window you either have a spy on the other team or pay someone off. A spy is more reliable. You could even switch factions and get the windows then switch back provided you could earn the FP to do so in a reasonable time or had the money to pay someone to delegate you the faction points.

The static bases are bugged. I have hit them overt and played with the uplink terminal with no luck. Player bases are almost as bad. The 2 hour window shifts and sometimes the terminals don't even spawn.

If you really want to blow up someone's base then I'd recommend hunting around the GCW forum for more info.

I've searched up and down these boards trying to find adefinitive answer about what level you need to be to jam the uplinks to factional bases, both NPC/Player. Can anybody give me a concrete answer on this? i.e. Have you jammed an uplink at Novice? Have you NOT been able to do it at novice? Thanks

I'm almost certain you need Investigation II in order to jam uplinks.

I have yet to find an npc where there is an uplink that can be jammed, or isn't missing, or isn't in imperial hands and being farmed for holocron drops from dark troopers.
