Now that Chiliastra has been copied onto TC3 and we can all see our weapons convert I have come across a problem that does not seem exactly fair. To respec your skills you have to novice for novice, elite for elite, now my problem is that being a bounty hunter in the live system forces us to us a lot more novice boxes than anyone else. I'm not a MBH in live right now so it hurts even more. I figure I'd post this and see what everyone else has to think.

My thoughts exactly. Tanks and the Commando correspondant have brought this up to the devs, hopefully some changes will be made, or some tweaks to certain professions.
I really wouldn't mind a 1 sp to 1 sp conversion for all classes, even jedi.

Like everyone else, you now have a few weeks to change it.. even if that means dropping bh until the cu. Everyone knows what the respec system will be, and its up to the individual to plan for the cu, or remain as they are currently. Its very easy to get a few boxes in something like swordsman or tka that will transfer over and will make you a mbh/master whatever else in the cu.... it all depends whether you are prepared to bite the bullet and give up hunting jedi for a couple of weeks, or regrind come may 5th.

Its not our fault the devs decided to change the pre-req's for bh/commando/doc's and cm's, I dont see why we should pay for having novice heavy templates that we had to have to open our professions, it hasnt even been officially stated that its elite for elite and novice for novice, however I do remember them saying that you wont be able to respec the investigation tree, so we could drop bh and grind some pistols or rifles or something and then post cu our skill points wouldnt transfer and we are left to grind inv from the start again in a much tougher enviroment. Its all up in the air and shrouded with secrecy and the profs like the 4 I have mentioned stand to lose out big time through no fault of our own.

I m not taking any risk, I am surrending BH and Commando, and I m going Master Pistoleer, Master TKA, Carab 4400 to have all the point I need to respec to the template I wish.
I have little faith they change the system, but if they do, then fine.

I agree it should be a 1-1 conversion all around- as long as everyone has the chance to do it then what's the problem? But like a lot I've people I've also started dropping boxes in order to grind up TK and have as many elite boxes to throw around as I can, so I will hopefully be able to keep my present template.
While that may work, there are a lot of people who do not visit these forums who are going to wake up May 5th and realize that they can't put the points where they need them to keep hold of their template.

Technically it's 1-1, but it's 1 Novice for 1 Novice, 1 Elite for 1 Elite. So you couldn't, for example, trade your Novice Unarmed Boxes for Pistol Techniques boxes.
Now in theory that's a nice way to keep people from just grinding up a whole bunch of boxes in the novice profs and using them to buy elite profs during the respec. The problem is that for BH's and Commandos thay HAVE to have the full Marksman, which will change for the CU. So, when the respec hits, you will have a whole bunch of boxes now free to use (Pistol, Carbine, Rifle 1-4 and MMarks), but you will not be able to use them to buy boxes in elite profs like BH or Pistoleer.
