Thread: Tanks: Can you verify if this is accurate and if so---perhaps bring to dev attention before live?

"Force weaken + Armor Break.... All i have to say is OMG i hit for 2k dmg in PVP with weaken and armorbreak on using Improved power attack"


seems to me these two shouldnt stack otherwise its incredible unbalancing? if of course its a typical hit

Couldn't you use advanced sniper shot from rifleman to do the same kind of damage? If so, I don't see what's so gamebreaking about it. Both have to be set up right. Both have the annoying zip line. Both are interuptable.

To get those jedi skills, and just those skills, would take 56 skill points. 80 if you count the fs skills you need. Master rifleman is 106. That's the same power for 1.3x less skill points. Sounds ok to me for a class that's 'supposed' to be 1.5x stronger.

If you notice in that post, there are a few misleading things reagarding it. First off, he is using an uber 750 dps lightsaber. In order to get that, you would need 4 perfect pearls that are 120.9 in damage. Most people have around 550-650.


Second. Weaken from what I am lead to understand doesn't affect armor at all. It mainly decreases the health of a target by 500. (Kind of like a recoverable wound.) It doesn't regenerate as fast as if you lost 500 health, but you eventually get it back. And I believe it's not spammable. So it's not like they can make you lose 500 each shot. and continue to make you lose it.


Plus he used improved power attack on the subject I believe. That is the move that was put on a cooldown/heatup timer in this latest patch. If I remember correctly, saber power attack is the largest damage dealing attack a jedi has and is a 2.25 multiplier.


So 2.25 X 750 = 1687 + 500 = 2187 using the uber ls. Where as myself, using a paltry 550 dps would be hitting for 1227 + 500 = 1727.


I believe that in 3 shots, a bh can do better than both those figures.

1. The person that wrote that has no idea how weaken works. For lack of a better term it's Debuff over time. It slowly lowers your max health by 500 or so, stays that way for a bit, and then slowly goes back up to normal health.No time to look up exact numbers or duration....but you get the point. It won't increase damage per hit.


2. If you read further down the guy has what equates to a legendary saber. Very few Jedi can match the base dps on that saber. And higher accuracy and speed then a MLS due to tapes. Soeven if it is true......maybe 1% of the entire Jedi population can match that. Notice how many other Jedi point out that it's not a reliable test due to that above factors.

You can only hit that high with sniper shot if...

1. You're prone
2. 20m away
3. Use aim (another zip)
4. Pyro
5. MBH + MR accuracy (198 skill points)
6. You have someone ELSE armor break them.


Otherwise sniper shot is more like 700-1k damage depending on if they have aura on or not.

I beleive they are changing the effect of weaken to act more like an armor debuff.

I always hit for 2kish damage using sniper shot. All my numbers were before armor, as were his. Of course it's not going to be near as much after armor is figured.

I read the same post, I am looking into it. If the effect of Force Weaken is changed, it should not stack with Armor Break. It is supposed to be armor break effect for Force Powers only.

Being master powers I would love that.....but as far as anyone else has seen it hasn't changed.

So....should a Rifleman have sniperShotor headHit nerfed if they can hit for over 2k dmg when their mark has been armorBreak'd and is kd'd?
