I just got novice DE and the first thing I did was create an MSE droid deed. I have two n00b questions:

1) Are mouse droids not able to use the armor module or manipulator arms? I created both and didn't see an option to fit those to my droid or put them into the module section when creating the droid. I only had a few minutes to try before I had to run off to work but I'd like to know if they simply arent supposed to be able to use these items by design.

2) Is there a known bug with trying to get the droid to follow you? I made a mouse droid with an item storage module, and told him multiple times to follow me, yet nothing happened. It just sat there and did nothing ...

The basic MSE: MOUSE droid only needs metal and Chemical to build. the other parts you will be using in later models.

The droid should automaticaly fallow you when first called. You should train the Fallow command and use it though. As far as I know there isn't a known bug conserning this. Just don't forget to train the command.

you were probably trying to program a new "follow" command instead of actually commanding it to follow.

To program a droid, you use the radial menu to select the command to reprogram. Then you speak the command out loud... it'll take the next thing you say as the new command.

your mouse probably has some bizarre command like "anyone know how to program this thing?" for its follow command
