Well I've been a BH since January and this is the first time I've been at a total loss on Jedi hunting. The improved saber damage was not something i expected lat night. I went after a 58k jedi and he killed me in three shots with his saber while my 1200 max damage rifle was only hitting him for about 250. None of my roots stuck and my knock down attacks did't do anything so i was unable to keep the jedi at bay. I was pretty shocked. I'm MRM/MBH/Pistols 0404. Its going to take me a while to figure out some new tactics. How are the other BH doing in publish 19 and what tactics are you using?

What type of damage is the rifle? (eg. Energy, Kinetic, etc.) Your best bet might be a kinetic damage since PSG's only defend against energy. In all likely you ran into a defender, so be prepared to have a lot of your damage mitigated. Best bet is try to get them on their back and unload your high damage shot. Being a rifleman you should be able to kite better than pistoleers and carbines because of the range, I believe root breaks on damage now so make sure to clear some distance then hit when you are out of range. Snare when root is loading back. Don't forget duelist stance as well

no the pistoleer root (true root) does not break on damage. a Mez breaks on damage/

thanks, i forgot about the duelist stance. i had it in a macro but stopped using it, but i guess i'll have to bring it back. I tried knocking him down but it didn't seem to effect him, he must have been defender.

I'm 2-0 with one stalemate post-19. My post-19 temp was MR/4X3X BH/4XXX CM and XXX3 Pistoleer.
One kill was a covered sniper situation, no damage taken from mark.
Second was similar, no damage taken, I don't think the mark evenknew he/she was under attack until I DB'd.
The stalemate was a toe-to-toe battle. My heals were too much for the mark and he eventually ran. KDs and roots were working fine for me. Saber damage was significant, esp with armor break, but with my three CM heals plus 1200 stims I could have gone on all day.
Tactics hmm? Stay out of saber range 1st of all. If/when that fails, healing seems to be a must (not sure if stim d's will cut it, but for some they might). The above temp hurt me damage/speed/accuracy/defense-wise, but the healing seems to make up for it (if you like longer more drawn out fights). Next I'm going to try MR/443X BH/2XXX CM and XXX1 pistoleer, hoping the basic root will serve its purpose, the improved(as opposed to advanced)CM heals will be sufficient for if/when a Jedi manages to close on me, and the X4XX branch of BH will improve my speed/accuracy/def as well as give me back critical shot for more damage.
