Thread: Vision of a True Bounty Hunter...

With the coming changes to Bounty Hunter, specifically moving player hunting to the master box I propose this. We all know bounty hunting is more of a hobby than a profession, but since it is one this is how it should be...


So lets start from the bottom...


Pre-requisites: Ranged Support IV - Exploration IV

All skills but Investigation will require combat xp but the boxes xp requirement will be adjusted to the equivalence of its previous xp requirement.


Novice Bounty Hunter


  • +1 Bounty Mission Difficulty

  • Melee Defense +10

  • Ranged Defense +10

  • General Ranged Accuracy +10

  • General Ranged Speed +5

  • General Melee Speed +10

  • General Ranged Speed +5

  • Force Defense +10

  • Assault Armor Accuracy Mitigation 20%

  • Assault Armor Movement Mitigation 30%

  • Assault ArmorRate of FireMitigation 10%

Dirty Tricks Tree


Box 1:



  • enTangle- this wrist launcher ablity allows a Bounty Hunter to tangle up their target with rope slowwing their movement.(snare effect)(this ability does no damage)

  • Stealth- This allows a bounty Hunter to go invisible for a veryshort period of time (approx 10 seconds). you cannot attack while in this state and you can not use this abilitywhile in combat. (ideal for sneaking up on a bounty, add more of an element of suprise)

  • Wrist Launcher Certification (this is required for usingmajority ofskills given in the Dirty Tricks line)(the wrist launcher can be worn while wielding any weapon)

Box 2:



  • Flash- This wrist Launcher ability allows the Bounty Hunter to flash a bright light at their target lowering their accuracy.(this ability does no damage)

Box 3:



  • Fire Blanket- This wrist launcher ability allows a Bounty Hunter to light their oppononent on fire.

  • Improved enTangle- This improvement to enTangle lengthens the period of time their target is snared.

Box 4:



  • Improved Flash- This enhancement to Flash adds a stunand blind affect to the ability.

Subjugation TreeBounty Ranged Support Tree


Box 1:



  • Critical Shot(stays as is)

  • Underhand Shot(stays as is)

  • Ranged Defense +10

  • General Ranged Accuracy + 5

  • General Ranged Speed +2

Box 2:



  • Confusion Shot- This ability has a chance of dazing their opponent by making them dizzy.

  • Ranged Defense +10

  • General Ranged Accuracy +5

  • General Ranged Speed +2

Box 3:



  • Improved Critical Shot- enhancement gives an increashed chance of critical hit.

  • Improved Underhand Shot- enhancement gives an increased chance of KD.

  • Ranged Defense +10

  • General Ranged Accuracy +5

  • General Ranged Speed +3

Box 4:



  • Improved Confusion Shot- this enhancement to Confusion shot adds a reduced combat speed to target + improved chance of dizzy.

  • Torso Shot(stays as is)

  • Ranged Defense +10

  • General Ranged Accuracy +10

  • General Ranged Speed +3

Bounty Close Encounters


Box 1:



  • Bruise- This melee ability allows a Bounty Hunter to reduce targets defenses.

  • Power Kick- This is a melee power attack generally used by Bounty Hunters

  • Melee Defense +10

  • General Melee Accuracy +10

  • General Melee Speed +2

Box 2:



  • Headbutt- This ability allows a bounty hunter to temporarily knock his target uncoscious leaving them in a paralyzed state for a very short period of time.

  • Melee Defense +10

  • General Melee Accuracy +10

  • General Melee Speed +2

Box 3:



  • Improved Bruise- this enhancement to bruise will further weaken the target.

  • Improved Power Kick- This increases the damage done by Power kick.

  • Melee Defense +10

  • General Melee Accuracy +10

  • General Melee Speed +3

Box 4:



  • Improved Headbutt- This enhancement to headbutt increases the duration of the paralyze.

  • Melee Defense +10

  • General Melee Accuracy +10

  • General Melee Speed +3

Keep Investigation the way it is! (but move bounty mission difficultylevel 2to "box 3"and ofcourse player hunting to master)


Master Bounty Hunter



  • General Ranged Accuracy +15

  • General Ranged Speed +15

  • General Melee Accuracy +15

  • General Melee Speed +15

  • Melee Defense +15

  • Ranged Defense +15

  • Tracking Droids +4

  • Tracking Drid Effectiveness +10

  • Droid Speed +10

  • Droid Precision +10

  • Droid Tracking Speed +10

  • Bounty Mission Difficulty +1

  • Advanced Critical Shot- this enhancement to Critical shot increases chance of Critical Hit.

  • Flail- This ability is a last ditch attack for melee.(not as powerful)

  • Improved Burst Run- this enhancement to Burst Run increases its duration and decreases cool down timer.

now you may ask...what happened to spray shot?


simple answer for that is...Bounty Hunter is designed as a 1 vs 1 profession and that attack doesnt fit under the requirements.



This is how I think Bounty Hunter should be...

Everything sound cool to me except the wrist launcher. I smell a Fett fanboy JK


mayeby it can be a gun that shoots those things or somthing a little more original. Great ideas though.

Our boards need more of this instead of jedi vs. bh flames and whining.

no these abilities allows us BH to get close to matching a jedi...check the stats, this wouldnt make the profession any better than the others, rather just allow it mingle better. Right now its best when mixed with master of another ranged profession...but what about melee? BH is versatile...and that should be reflected.

Sorry but I dislike too many things in your proposal. I'm fine with the actual BH prof, and I certainly DON'T THINK ofit as1 vs 1. Sure most BHs like to hunt alone. But don't forget some like to team up to stalk Jedi. Where is it written I should hunt Jedi honorably? I'm a stalker, a hunter and a professional. That means I'll use any environment that gives me an edge, team up if necessary and make the best use of my abilities to get my target down. I don't want to be a jack of all trades, and I don't want to have any melee skills in the BH tree, because then logic would require Unarmed combat to get BH.


I salute your efforts, some ideas are nice and pleasant (I like the wrist device idea ) but overall, I'd rather tweak what we currently have to balance it than ask for a revamp that would prolly spoil the game for many BHs.

heh commendable but I think you should look over the things they are planning on changing...I proposed these ideas in light of the new forced 1 vs 1 Bounty hunting... If I hadnt heard they planned on making us hunt alone...and not knowing who were hunting...I wouldnt of scribbled up these ideas

Old old old ideas that have been knocking about for as long as the duel wield pistols idea and the bounties on smugglers/other players idea. The day that this old suggestion comes to fruition will be the day satan is spotted putting a down payment on a snow plough.
