Thread: Yet another template question....

I'd like the BH communities opinion of the following template:


Master Bounty Hunter

Master Rifleman

Marksman 44x4

Novice Smuggler



I was recommended this by someone in my guild. I respec'd to it from MBH, Carbineer, Master Marks, medic and have had great success with it in PvE, but.... was wondering about PvP. What are you thoughts on the above?

Not really sure, i had a line of smuggler that i changed to CM4000 with the final respec. Now that i have the healing, i couldnt imagine how id do without it. But what works for some, wont for others. /2cents

I certainly like the ability to heal myself. I’ve always maintained soft capacity in medic in order to use better stims (pre CU) and heal faster. Recently I ventured away from it, and am shocked that while I can use the stim D’s, I can only heal every 60 seconds or so. Battles don’t last too long that way, and often times if it’s not over in the first min, I’m not going to win.

A thought occurred to me though… with my alt character who could soon be a doc, it would be possible to salve him to my main with /follow running a looped healing macro. This is kinda a cheap solution, and I would prefer a nice well rounded defensive/offensive template with good healing abilities

I hate to say it but unless you do everything as a group, Healing in one form or another is mandatory.


Ruby plus StimD/E will only go so far against finished templates.


Combat Medic 4.0.0.0 seems to give the best bang for buck as far as skill pt investment. Plus you will be a decent healer for group PvE.


Maybe a few Medic boxes, maybe Novice Doc, whatever you decide, you will need some healing...there has been mention that Ruby and Stims are sufficient but I tend to disagree with this line of thought...Ruby and StimD/E are great for keeping you going so you can dish out damage and not spend the whole fight healing yourself but you need to augment it....Ruby and Stim alone isn't enough to enable you to take on challenging fun fights.


As always...I respectfully welcome any comments and constructive criticism. For what it's worth my template:


Master BH

Master Pistols

Combat Medic 4,0,0,0

FS Reflexes 0,3,0,0 (melee defense)


Does fine against most except Jedi Healers but those end up as stalemates...../salute

Was thinking about the healing thing and was contemplating substituting Novice Smuggler for Novice Doc or the CM thing if I could fit in....


This would remove my ability to root with the above temp. The root I have avail now is concussion shot (Novice Smuggler) I would only have a snare otherwise.



With MBH and MRM (both I'd like to keep) what are some suggestings for other profs/skills to have a well rounded healing, and defensive char?

Ya, but i anticipate the concussion shot will soon be fixed. ie. root will stop as soon as the target takes damage. Again though, its all up to preference.

MLS/MASTER DEF HEALER 4040


With the new saber damage, lower force cost for saber specials and with all the defence and the ability to heal +1500......you are almost unstoppable. Add to LS the ability to stop action regen and use sap......wow.


I need to learn more about foods and their use but i think this is a tank template.
