Thread: armor and weapon confusion -help a newb!

ok im still pretty new and just wondering this....I want full shock trooper. I am a BH/combat medic and am curently wearing the imeprial clone armor, now I like shock but the clone which is BATTLE is better than any freakin assault i can find. Is the quality of the armor based on who makes it? or is 6k K 4k E and 5k EL as good as shock gets? Cause i dont like the clone armor it looks retarded and im more BH than I am CM so i have better assault mitigation. Also i see most BH using a pistol, is there a reason? I've been using lightning rifles and other rifles for the 65m range, help to knock em down and run that far, like I said am a newb just wondering!

I dont think that is the best the armor will get. I think you can get upwards of 8k kinetic resist with any assualt armor. It is based on who makes it. Assault armor will have higher Kinetic resists, while battle armor will have a more balanced resists.
I dont know about the BH pistol thing... I ama BH but rarely will you see me using a pistol. I think most BHs actually use rifles. Personally, I prefer carbines.

assault armour will have better resis in general but is not as balanced as battle.. if you have 8k in one resist in a assult you can only have 4k in the other where as i've seen battle armour nicely balanced at 6k on all

ok heres a question then hehe. Is lightsaber damage energy or kenetic? I was assuming energy so i thought assault, being BH armor would have high eneregy resists. Kenetic i thought was melee weapons. Thanks for all the helpful replies. And im not sure bout the pistols either, I just see em with big fat pistols usualy, never rifles.
EDIT* - also before i go buy a PSG, where are they worn? or are they put int armor? (god ima newb) anyway, thanks again

most jedi use energy damage.. though there are some out there that do kenetic damage.. and a good deal of them now have some elemental damage added to their sabers... i use high energy resist when hunting jedi... as far as pistols go.. i have a 2 double capped FWG%'s one kenetic and one energy

so they pretty much gave BH the armor mitigation in which has the lowest energy resists of all the armor when their main targets do massive amounts of energy damage.....well guess thats sony.

not true... my armor is 8000 energy and 3.9k kenetic and i have another suit with the oppisite, i alos have a balanced set for genereal combat

ahhh so the armorsmith can pick what to put on it?! I didnt know that 
thanks now i just have to start bugging armorsmiths if i can find one on shadowfire. I've saved up 5 million credits, hopefuly i can get something nice!

it all depends what lairs they put in it.. and you might want to save up a little more before asking for their best.. lol.. dont know about shadowfire but the good stuff on intrepid goes between 8-10mil for a full set
