Thread: How does the Root in Pistoleers fair in comparison to the Rifle's KnockDown?

I've been hunting Jedi all day. Not one kill. Fine by me because this is my first day and I am just learning. However, i am noticing a trend here. My template is in my sig. My KnockDown seems to work when I get the jump on my mark. After that I get constant misses. Would the Pistoleer Root work better? Perhaps 0004 for Stopping Shot?

Also, for Medic, I have 0040...would another branch work better?

Depending on which level you have a root can last 10 (Nov Pist), 20 (Pist xxx3), or 30 seconds (Master Pist. A knockdown only lasts as long as it takes your target to hit the KD recovery button (unless he's bugged). So which would you rath have: your target stopped for 30 seconds or 1?

Your hits and misses depend entirely on your accuracy and your opponent's ranged defense. You can boost your accuracy throughabilities like /aim, drinks like deutrinium pyro, clothing/armor attachments, or just picking up skill boxeslike Pistol x4xx or Carbs x4xx. Of course a Jedi can increase his defense with abilities like aura, food like vegasperine, clothing attachments, or just picking up some Defender skill boxes. Of course most of those will appear under your target's name, so if you don't see anything, you might get lucky and kill him before he turns them on.

As far as medic goes... that's a matter of opinion. The support line gives you more per heal, but the ranged healing line gives you different types of heals that can be used while another cools down. So which would you rather have: One big heal every 6 seconds, or 1 of 3 smaller heals ever 2 seconds? Then again, bacta toss includes an animation that stop you for a second which can make kiting tough.

Either way you should pick up a Bio Engineered shirt with +16 healing efficiency. If you have the extra money, buy some HE skill tapes to boost your mod to +25. This alone will give you a significant boost for all of your heals.

Thanks for the reply man, I apprecaite it. Stopping Shot sounds awfully good to me, however, with my current template I would have to do some grinding and moving around skill points.

I don't know if it is because of the XP nerf, but all the Jedi I have run into have been fully buffed and ready. A few were full templates. There has been no suprises yet.

Rifle's Knockdown ??????

Underhand shot is BH special not a rifleman one

And yes root lasts longer than KD but you do get a damage bonus for them being KD'd

Keep in mind that if you miss with underhand shot, you can try again pretty quickly. Miss with stopping shot, and it's a painfully long time before you get a chance to use it again. Not that I've ever hunted a jedi, but I've used both againts krayts and I know which shot I'd rather have.

Spam Advance Stratle shot. It's a daze effect and they will not be able to heal or attack. Note taht after it wears off there is a 10 second anger state where no more dazes stick. Also this does break on damage, so turn off your auto attack if you are going ot use it.
