Thread: BH Vs Jedi

People seem to want to take xp away from BH for failing a mission vs a jedi and such.

If you want to have a negative effect for a bounty hunter. There is one bleeding obvious solution. If they fail, they get a bounty on their own head.

Maybe a solution...

I think the main problems with the BH thing are:

a) BH get first, and often final, strike. (Fails logic/fun test. It's basically griefing to me, implemented by the Dev team.)

I do not mind a stand up fight. I do not mind a BH hunting me, but I do mind when I cannot fight back, and where is the Jedi awareness so often touted in the Star Wars world?

b) BH get infinite lives

Ok, so the BH fails. They lose nothing. Basically as soon as the Jedi is on the mission terminal, it's a PvP grief fest. The Jedi may as well logout and not come in for a week. That's not fun either. BH can keep coming back, and will want to, since the payout is so high. However, the player Jedi are a LOT wimpier then a NPC Jedi. Heck those 'untrained padawans' in the NE of Dant lay a serious can of wup azz down on anyone doing the missions, with jedi powers flailing, high armor, 80% resists, high HAM etc...

c) Jedi get no XP for killing a BH.

Ok, if the BH gets a huge credit boost, and awesome XP- Jedi who fight a BH off as well.

d) New jedi 'friends' of a BH can exploit and allow them to kill them over and over for easy BH XP/credits.

This has to stop. And how?

e) Rebel BH and neutral BH can attack Rebel Jedi?

Um, the Rebel is a friend... Neutral is someone who basically does not want to PvP.

Net result:

I don't like the system. I recommended a few things on the Test Center board that a lot of folks like, it basically comes down to only Overt Imps can take BH missions to kill Jedi- their reward is FP, not XP. And a few credits. The Jedi go 'Overt' when using their powers. That's actually a bit more dangerous to the Jedi as ANY Overt Imp will see them as enemy, but if both BH and Jedi are 'overt' the both see each other as Red and can respond accordingly.

BH need to lose the 'cushiness' of stayingcovert if they want to enter PvP. Figthing a playerJedi *is* PvP. Hence, I fully supportonly overt imps huntingRebel Jedi.

Do not penalize the BH,just make it make more sense in the game. And reward the Jedi for fighting off BH. You might see a lot more Jedi acceptable to the idea.

Oh, sideeffect of forcing the BH to go Imp Overt, is the silliness where your friends cannot protect you will be removed. I mean, this is a team game, where it is most fun to hunt with friends.

Something you may have overlooked is that ALL starting Jedi are Rebel. So, where's the parity for the Rebel BH then? The only real option would be to give new Jedi the option of being Light or Dark, which does not work with the story line. Thus the 'fallen' to the Dark Side thing.

thats stupid...if bh fail they get xp taken away or bounty on thier head..thats not right..jedi has to be rare..bh are only one that can do it..there fore its a prievelage...which mean bh should have no afteraffect after losing to jedi...u have to remember jedi are not even suppose to be in this time period

It's only an alternative to the ludicrous xp loss idea some people have floating around.

ok here i go with my idea.

if a BH takes a player jedi killing mission and succeeds that jedi will lose a skill box that needs like millions in xp which is similar to gain like combat xp.

so if the BH fails why don't they lose a skill box if they faill 3 times to kill a jedi? cos they are obviously not a capable BH so they deserve to lose the skill.

Because we are a regular hybrid class like all the others. Jedi are and uber class that has clearly more combat power than any other class. Its how it balances.

Um...because you are playing with a bonus character where we are playing with our main. If you don't want to lose skills just log off and log back in with your main character...you know...the one that got you the FSCS in the first place.

im no jedi wish i was, but that's a crock what you 2 have said. they are a uber combat class my arse. killing a jedi who is lower than a padawan, is like killing a master marksman, no contest.

do any of you actually have any idea how hard it is to be that class? imagine having to get 800,000 combat xp just to fill one box and the next one needs 1,200,000. and you say its fair for them to lose a box for dying. but you are not willing to lose a box for failure, which is far easier to regain.

Yes, a JEDI LOWER THAN A PADAWAN. You seem to be forgetting that part of your own statement.

The Jedi forums are a few spots down from BH forum Drian. Go talk to them about it. I'm sure they will be happy to discuss your idea and agree with you.

Crying like a little girl about the hardships that Jedi go through will get you no love here.

I say we put drian up infront of a brick wall and all of us stand there with double barrel shot guns and have birdshot but instead of it being chuncks of metal in there is should be rock salt. Then we can all take turns shooting and laughing!!!

and the rituals that fade away, and the roses that cease to be laid, and it's clear to me that we're one foot in a very shallow grave
