Ok, I am regrinding my template and am definately set on MBH.

But I fancy Squad Leader or Commando to go with it.

Can I have your thoughts/advice please ? I could do some of each but then my cl will drop. If I master one, I can then only take one line of the other.

Ta,

Mirth

If you want to be a successful bounty hunter IE killing jedi, Forget Commando and Squad leader they arent the best.

You can either try Pistoleer , Carbineer , rifleman, Combat Medic or Master Doctor.

Ive fought with a few of these templates and managed to take down jedi with them, templates not really an issue between these templates, there are all very powerful , and its the user of the template who adapts and learns his template who becomes a successfully skilled bounty hunter.

There is a post that should be within the first 3 pages discussing MBH/Commando

MBH/SquadLeader is a good choice if you engage in a lot of PvP and/or hunts. You'll have nice defenses, decent specials, but the Squad Lead love coming down in the next patch or so looks great! You'l be in more of a group support role than doing the bulk of the damage though

However, I agree with the above poster. You won't be taking out too many Jedi with either of these templates. The lack of healing is what is going to be your undoing for high level Jedi missions. You should be good to go with any MBH + one other offensive ranged profession against npc marks though.

It all boils down to what you think will be fun. Don't take a template becuase anyone else tells you it's "the best" and don't not take one because someone tells you that it's "the worst". It's about fun. What will give you the most FUN. This IS a game afterall! If you're not having fun, then why are you here? So.... I'd say try them both out. If you don't like one, try the other. You can grind/regrind fairly fast in the game now...a full ranged profession can be ground out in a matter of hours with AOE groups these days. Plus you'll get the badges for both, and know that you either like or dislike one or the other.

If the template includes 2 combat professions then its generally fit for Jedi. Just takes the right person to manipulate its skill base in a way that is effective.
