I was thinking on wayfaring, just because of the run bonuses might give the Bh the advantage over other ones, but I wasn't quite sure.

Actually, I think only the first box in wayfaring affects how fast you go up slopes. Anything after that is for how fast youmove while prone.

Ter Neg at 50 is just for up slopes, anything above that is moving while prone. So once your a Master Scout you have 50 so starting at Novice Ranger you'll speed up.

Any thoughts on the merits of using the 33 elective points to advance in the Wayfaring and Trapping skills of the Ranger tree?

I'm currently a Novice Ranger working on my 40k CE for Novice Bounty Hunter and plan to put my 33 points into Wayfaring and Frontiering. I really wanted Wayfaringfor the Camoflauge bonuses (since I probably won't be prone that much as a Bounty Hunter) and Frontiering because, well, I like to build cool camps for ppl I group with =).


To be honest, I don't see much point in putting points into the Trapping branch. Aside from the snare and maybe the range debuffer (both of whichyou get in the Scout profession) I don't see much use in any of the others. Rescuing is ok I guess if you are in a group and you want to save the medic or entertainerbut, after messing around with the higher level ones they don't seem to be worth it.


That's just my personal opinion anyway...

i guess with the ranger revamp its gonna be somthing nice to get, im not sure yet. some stealth kind of skills, etc.

Last I heard they were going to remove the Rescue skill completely. Not sure how well the traps and stuff will do. I use to love them back when I had to be Master Scout/Master Marksmen to be MBH. I always wished I could use them on players and NPCs too back then. It's been so long since the MBH requirements changed that I can't really recall what I liked about them though.


The new stealth will be sweet. Too bad its at the Master Ranger box (unlike cloak, which you can dabble in)..but I'm sure thats still being examined by the devs so who knows...they may move it to a 4th tier box. If I get bored with my current template I'm sure to regrind Ranger.


Still have a house full of super camps to use up....

Useless until they do a revamp of Ranger...but even then, I'm not sure how effective it would be.

I'll have to see how the new Ranger ends up working out. I loved being a BH ranger back when master Scout and Marksman were required, mainly for the tracking. With that going away who knows. I do like the sound of cloaking in cities and human traps. By god, that actually sounds like a BH!!!
