Hmm, It did have some kind of symbol next to his name, is this something new that was added during my absence?
If they have the <<name of mark>> and they are gold it will be a tough fight.
They added more difficult Mobs which are supposed to drop much better loot.
These are Boss mobs that you may get at random.
You NEED to have some healing to take on the bosses which is what you encountered, otherwise you WILL die. What equipment do you have and what are the stats? What weapon? What is your armor and energy resists on it? What food do you use?
By just telling us you have all the "best" equipment, weapons, armor, food....that's pretty vague. How about sharing some of this information with us as far as WHAT equipment, weapons, armor, food you are using, then maybe we can help. Things have changed since you have last played.
Also what tactics do you use? Do you have any prep at all or just run guns a blazin'? Bosses are easy once you adjust to them.
Give us more info.

Hmm he probably killed you becuase
1.) you were wearing Kinetic armor like assault , and not recon, or vice versa depending on his weapon.
2.) your probably using a crappy gun with a SAC of 80+
3.) Poor tactics No use of PSG.
Take a look at this thread for some tips!![]()

Bocefus2000:
They catch you offguard the first time. Couple things to bear in mind:
Not all of them are that tough. The occasional one has the double gold chevron and is extremely tough (at least the first couple times). Soem ahve HAM in excess of 35k. Thats like a Krayt, only it can hit you from 80 meters. 600 damage a hit is painful, to be sure.
However, all is not lost. You do NOT need a medic profession. You will, however, either need a friend who CAN heal you, or some non-medic stimpacks (which cost about 125-450k a crate depending on how much is in the crate). These in stim-D format can heal about 1100 a use. To go along with these you will want Ruby Biel food so you can heal more often. Just in case.
Next, make sure you know the application and best use for ALL of your specials. What is your template by the way? Root is all but useless on these targets unless you plan to run. And I dont advise that...if they follow and then -Retreat- you are NOT going to be happy watching their 35k ham regen in less than 30 seconds.
Trial and error works. The frist gold chevron mark i had with 35k took three tries. Finally got him, however. The rest have been not too difficult in comparison. Having a god-like weapon, a good shield generator and some skill tapes go a long way too.

I am wearing a set of Comp.
SAC on my pistol is not an issue.
Yes, I have a PSG. Tactis adjustment advice is what I was asking for.
You are welcome ![]()
Tactics are always an issue. What works in PvP will soemtimes work in PvE, though usualy at a far different rate. Thank the devs that NPCs do not use healing skills on themselves, at least.
Bear in mind, also , friend, that these high profile marks generally have VERY good loot. On a lucky roll you can make a cool million on a single NPC mark...or much more. I managed an 5 million value skilltape last time. Sadly, I need to save it for my own use ![]()
