i've did about 30 or so BH missions over the weekend looking for a 36k health mark again...i was handling 17-22k health marks easily. sometimes, not even having to use a single stimD.

now - i have a range problem because i'm a pistoleer (still don't have a good rifle).

i got wasted AGAIN.

it seems that without a rifle and medic skills, you may as well not fight the 36k marks. they are truly elite.

not only did i get my a$$ kicked, but i couldn't even get this npc to 2/3rds health before my belly was fully of ruby and i couldn't even stim myself anymore.

tonite - i dump my artisan skills (good bye vendors) and pick up medic.

Find the nearest bunch of NPCs/Creatures to your mark - take note of their direction. Agro the mark and then run like hell towards those mobs. The higher level they are the better, and if there's a whole bunch of them, then that's perfect.

Kite the mark into these mobs and wait for the inevitable area attack - then watch as everything decides that this carbine waving 36k HAM pain in the butt deserves to come to a rapid end.

Killed at least three this way when the going has got tough.

Hope that helps.

I really don't understand what you guys are doing. I have NO HEALING, but I use Stim Ds and Ruby B. But to be honest, I don't use any foods or stims unless it's a 36k Gold mark. And then I only use a stim or two.

The only thing I can think of is that I have 100 million in my equipment. I don't think this holds true to much though, cause I take them in my kinectic BH Armor sometimes.... just for the heck of it.

This is what I do. I use Duelist Stance. Never let it die. I wear a PSG. I use knockdown to get the damage modifier on the next hit. I stack them up blind, dizy and stun. Blind keeps them from hitting you for max damage. Stun let's you do more damage to them.

I am using my proton carbine, sliced for damage with SAC PUPS. Do NOT use speed pups. You'll run out of action and waste tons of regen foods.

I hope this helps a little. If you really want to... I'll frap a recording the next time I find a boss mark.

i think the difference is the carbine versus pistols - here's what i use...

full buffs, blob candy, canape, synthsteak, ranged accuracy foods

i copied a pretty good duelist stance macro from these forums, and ran it all weekend

7k energy/5k kinetic - ubese

no psg (i use a belt with +10 pistol speed/accuracy - think i should ditch it in favor of a psg?)

a 570 modified dps scatter, p/u'd to a 58 SAC (the ONLY reason i use this gun is for the low SAC)

i start off with a knockdown, critshot/torsoshot combo to get max damage, then i throw on an intimidate, stun/dizzy....then i critshot/torso shot until my action gets low (which it does with the crit/torso shot combo).

my drink meter is empty at this point, and i'll just basically stand toe to toe using stimD/ruby/stimD until i'm full - then i am pretty much dead.

i was getting NAILED for 750 points of damage when i got hit - that's like 1/4 of my health. 2-3 hits in a row like that and i need to use a stimD or two just to keep fighting.

because i'm pistols - i get real close hoping to decrease the accuracy of the NPCs who are typically carbineers. doesn't seem to work.

i think i just need to get a high speed laser rifle or lightning rifle and stay out of range.

Here's a helpfull tip. Get a combat droid.

I can solo them with no problem Master Smuggler Master BH and a combat droid.

Combat droids only do like 74 dmg but they do it every second so for your 1 shot it does 4.

I hit for 800 or so and my Droid does 296 on top of that.

Knockdown as much as posible with duelstance always on and a few crotch shots and there as good as done for.

How do you do against player Jedi? Do these tactics work against player Jedi?

I suspect the answer to second question is no, treat these the same way you would a player Jedi and you will find they go down easier than the n00best of Padis.

are you sure your armor is 7K?

What he said, if you have 7k armor and are using steak there is no way your getting hit that hard..unless your level 60 something fighing level 82. Maybe your armor is broken..check the condition. With armor(7k energy) and PSG at level 80 most I ever got hit for was 200 points.

Use your arsenal. Always run duelist, disarming shot before you try to reapply it, disarming shot if you need a few seconds to regen, knockdown as often as you can, eyeshot him for the blind and reduced accuracy, intimidate him for the reduced damage.

I do have 0004 CM (allowing me to cut his damage by an additional 25% with thyroid rupture and to, should the need arise, heal myself) but the only thing about the 35K+ marks that's been annoying so far is that they take time before they go down. But down they go, and I never have to fiddle with a rifle.

Why'd you want to use a rifle anyway?

Are you CL80? If so, that is def a factor. I am 100% ranged, great guns but average equipement, and I do not have an issue with them. For the 36K Ham ones, I run duelist stance, wear a PSG, keep em bleeding, eat a spice and that's it (maybe a blind thrown in if I am bored). The spice has a 20% bonus to health as well as health and action regen rates. You cannot beat that with food or doc buff. The worst I ever got it from one of them, I had to take 5 Stims and 4 Rubis during the fight, but was never really close to going down.
