K - so everyone seems to have gotten a shock at how tough the real elite marks are (lvl82, 30k+ HAM and crazy regen rate). But reading the threads there do seem to be some success stories. Personally, I got one of these last night and just could not find a way to get its health down before I lost my mind, but I am desperate to take this dude out. I for one think that these new NPC's offer a welcome new challenge and we should work out ouselves how to take them down before crying that they are "too hard".

So.....post success stories and any tips/strategies you find helped below....I think there are a lot of us right now that would welcome these. And no "what are you talking about these are easy..." threads 'cos if that's you then you are not talking about the same marks we are!

Took down one an hour ago. Here's what I did, and what I was up against (I have a dozen screen shots if anyone is interested):

His health pool: 35292

Time to drop him: 22 minutes (second fight)

My temp: MCM / MBH / Pistol xxx3

Weapon I used: Nym's Slug Thrower (sliced for speed) 349-698 dmg Elemental 170 (Mod speed 1.5)

Armor I used: Composite 7000 kinetic 5000 energy

What I learned:

CM DoTs cannot keep their regen from going up. God-like is just about the best way to describe what their health regen is like. First fight I lost, and he DBed me. I was not using any food at the time, and I could not keep up my health - he ran my mind down too fast. Second time I pumped up my defense by 100 through food and that helped immensely. I had to keep all DoTs on, or I would lose ground on my damage. Kinetic worked better than energy attacks. I had plenty of time to try different weapons after I got things under control, and the next best thing was my lightening rifle (again, elemental damage), but it didn't have enough overall damage to be effective - which is why the slug worked best.

Even kiting with 75% AB energy armor wasn't effective. His snare would allow him to catch up, so just plan on a hand-to-hand battle (i.e. wear kinetic resist armor). She would use Sword Flurry which would make me miss a ton. Be ready for that and don't spam specials at that time. She didn't knock-down until I started doing it - coincidence, I believe. She had a TON of specials (snare, root, KD, AB, you name it).

I can provide more detail, if needed. Questions? Just ask. It was a tough fight, but I got a nice CA (2H LS accuracy 15 / musical efficiency 9) and crystal out of it. Oh, and bugs. Got bugs. I can post my screen shots if necessary... I knew there was a lot of dispute on whether these guys can be taken down... just here to say they can.

Well, you can review the tales of my encounters with the uber boss marks in these 3 posts (1, 2, 3).

You can see from these posts that I've had some success against these elite boss marks, and I'd say that you will need as a minimum: 6500 Energy & Kinetic Resist armour, as these bosses like to chase you down and armour break in melee, and then switch to ranged when you get clear of them and apply a lot of damage there too. You will also probably need a SAC reduction PUP on a high-end weapon (such as proton carbine, high end elite carbine, high end scatter etc).

Preperation is the key, I believe - you will need to take foods such as Mandalorian Wine (+200 action & mind regen, plus around 500 health bonus for the good stuff). I also use fully armour break sliced RIS armour, the best stims I can find, and foods such as AirCakes (dodge bonus), Crispic (accuracy bonus), Synthsteak (damage mitigation for when you're knocked down or low on health), and Booster Blue spice (regeneration rate increase).

In regard to specific fighting techniques, that all depends on your template, however good healing will be a must, and the preperation of good armour, good food, good stims and good knowledge of your skillset is a universal precuser.

.
The sad thing is, unless the majority of your top end equipment is ADK'd, its simply not worth running these bounties. Sure, you might get an amazing CA worth 25mil to someone on your server, however its much more likely that you'll end up with a jar of forraged bugs and a warm hat.

I have had them and do this...

1) Use a combat droid ( I use a DZ-70) !!!And ALWAYS group with it!!!!

It hit my mark for87 dmg 17x every 20 seconds... which adds up. (basically it nulled their reg. rate)

2) Play the run and gun game...

Basically I use a ranged placed macro and speed pup which allows me to shot my shots every single second. With this running, I run up to my mark... it pulls a mellee then run away.... it pulls a gun.. then back and forth... (untill the root, then do again when root is gone)

I do this thoughout the batte... as it really takes away a lot of hits. (and it is sort of fun too)

3) I use dodge cake and my duelist macro

The npc's with miss like mad with both runniing (not much for dmg mitigation, but to have npc miss 3 of7 shots is huge)

4) If MCM use you debuffs, poision, fire, and diseise.

Explains itself

5) Use your terrain and helpers

Npc's will help you and creatues if you put your back to them and let your NPC hit them with an area. Also they will follow you... I have burst swam though water to have NPC follow then KD and go to town on it while it is swimming (make sure you kill out of water so you can loot)

6) Pop a steak

If NPC is tearing you up use a steak it will mitagate a ton of dmg.

7) Use a psg

Not always helpfull but some do use energy weapons.
