This is just a suggestion. More to the devs, but would like to know what people would think.

After mastering 32 professions(BTW, I think that Jedi should be redone so that you have to master 32 professions to unlock to village, so stop your screaming. But if jedi aren't redone, then the same situation as jedi. Or maybe make it so that the 3 professions you need is both random like the hologrind days. That way, you may unlock bh, but not jedi and vice versa.), you unlock the old hunter.

This oldhunter goes along the lines of you have become a you have proven your skill. There is a secret organization that has long been thought to have been extinct. They would like you to speak to you after doing some tests.

Tests would be similar to the village. Same skillsets, but a different village, or the same one for all I care.

After you complete 6 village missions (similar to what the village is now, and also same type of skillset.), oldhunter comes to visit again.

You have proven your worth in the eyes of the Mandalorians, as a final test, you are to take out this base.

Again, similar to the Melinache or whatever his/her name is as jedi. Once you have killed him her. Tada, you unlock the Mandalorian profession.

This profession will be similar to the jedi professions. Differences are, no lightsaber, but instead a specialized carbine. You cannot gain experience unless you use this special type of carbine. It will be similar in DPS and all other facets as the jedi's sabers. No powers, instead gadgets. (IE that flamethrower from the wrists that Jango had, or that missle pack that boba had) Defenses (with adjustments due to armor that BH's will be able to wear.), healing, and enhancer (with a few tweaks to enhancer) will be fairly similar. Instead of a force bar, you would have something else. Constittion bar or something like that.

Experience will also have same rules as jedi. Including, I can feel the flames now, being hunted by bounty hunters for too much visibility. and you can make it so that Boba Fett places a bounty on this person, for following the Mandalorian way, or something like that.

In effect,a similar system already exists,so it's not like rewriting an entire new system. Just applying the Jedi profession and putting it towards the elite BH profession. This is especially effective now, since only the jedi paddy system is in place. You can tailor the FRS system in the future to be all inclusive with so that the jedi and BH FRS system is similar.

Well, any thoughts?

In all honesty this is probably the best "elite" idea ive ever read. Its better than the jedi crap they got going on now! The only thing i wouldn't like is being restricted to the carbine, but maybe a system where you could learn new weapon skills and schematics. This would compare with the lightsaber trees as in onehanded=pistols etc. But honestly if the devs did this i would bow down and proclaim them my gods.

That would be so awesome, and you should get a suit of mandalorian armor upon becoming a mandalorian and the armor should become mandalorian only. I'd love to see the look on a jedi's face when BAM they have flames coming at them from my wrists.

I guess you could have pistol, carbine, rifle. But only special new weapons. the main reason I say this, is I think it should still stay in par with Lightsabers. Kind of a Ying for a Yang thing. If their profession changes, then your profession would have to have the same change.

So since their sabers are static, (there really isn't a difference between one handed, two handed, double bladed like inthe pre cu days) this elite professions weapons should be pretty much the same. And why I picked carbines, since it's the middle ground between pistol and rifle. Plus I hear that that's what Boba used. (don't know if it's true or not, but sure, go with it.)

At that point, I would say then that the defenses tree stay similar to the Jedi tree. The Mandalorian armor that can be equipped would be in likeness to boba fetts armor, but it will not have stats. It will be like the Jedi armor, and have a "constitution" regen bonus and a "constitution" + modifier.

The goal is to have a similar profession as the jedi, but not a jedi.

Also, forgot to add, that at Mandalorian initiate, you would still have the ability to hunt jedi.

Sounds good to me but you knoooowwwww who the first ones to b!tch about this will be if this gets implemented. They can't even stand us being within an eon of their god like powers so you know this will get flamed. That's why I like it even more. Some content for a non-profession for once. While we are at it, how about something similiar for commandos as well ? You could substitute mort for the old man.

I think this should also be a path of choosing the mandolorian way of boba fett or the deathwatchman since these two were in such conflict from what I read.

ktanner your right it would cause problems with the jedi community, but they have an alt so they have no reason to complain. I would hate to be one of so many waving a glowstick around, but currently thats the only real option for pvp and high end content. This mandalorian idea would fix that and add much more content to this dying game. I don't think mandalorian armour for this prof is a good idea for the simple reason that it is already in the game and hard to get, if dwb raiders saw people running around in full suits for getting a profession theyd be pissed. Its pretty much guarunteed nothign like this will ever be put in the game but we can dream, dream for a solution that isn't a nerf!
