Although it has been called "bottom feeding" by our own Corr, I really want to know what SWG (SOE) is trying to say about the upcoming changes to the Jedi and BH profession. It USED to be enough for grinding Jedi to have group vis turned off. Now with Kashyyyk and the "nameless" missions (THE direct result of the Devs turning group vis on)....are the Devs trying to tell us that they simply DON'T want the Padawans to be killed....EVER? Is THIS what the "risk" of becoming a Jedi has been reduced to. The statistical chance that a MBH (population lowered) MIGHT get your mission.

they'll do whatever the jedi want because the marketing department has said on average a jedi account stays active longer than a non-jedi account. They don't care about anything else even if the game suffers.

If "bottom feeding" is the only problem why don't they just not allow the younglings to be on the terminals in the first place. There's got to be something more, unless they are just that stupid.

There's a few things that stand to be corrected by the no name missions:

1. Harassment- no BH will be able to go after the same Jedi over and over each time his/her mission is generated. While I haven't heard that this is an issue, odds are that it could be due to some players that aren't emotionally mature enough to take getting DB'd or 3x incapped.

2. Mission Holding- no Bh friend of a Jedi will be able to find, take and hold a mission for a Jedi, which lessens the chance that Jedi could be hunted. Larger guilds could have enough Bhs that a Jedi would have nothing to fear because all his missions are taken.

Don't get me wrong, I'm against the idea of no name missions. I find it absurd that a BH is given a mission to kill a Jedi and yet isn't even told the name of his mark. "Hey Mr. BH, will you take this contract? It's on a guy in robes.. he has a lightsaber and hangs around Theed starport fighting other guys in robes. Huhh ?? What's his name? I dunno !! " But Jedi want, Jedi whine, Jedi get is the way this game seems to go. That's one reason I love being a BH... giving them one more reason to whine !!

I just gotta ask, whats the real problem here? Does it really change how you hunt a jedi if you have his name or not? Or is most, not every, BH isafraid that instead of being able to roll up on some brand new padawan and killing him with ease, now you might just end up dead yourself because you got some jedi master, or fully temp paddy? How does a name affect how or when you kill someone?

It seems to me that the paddy whining has been the main reason for publish 20. As I said in a reply to Tanks most recent post, Paddies getting hunted more often than Knights is simple Darwinism. To bad, so sad. The jedi population will grow so out of control now that the Dant MO will have more people in their pajamas than a party at the Playboy Mansion. The name thing, well I understand that picking on the same people over and over is griefing, it goes on between non jedi/bh players in the gcw all the time with guild wars. Nothing seems to be done about that. It really does reinforce that unsaid idea that Kashyyyk is the Jedi Shangri-La, and is working as intended.
I agree Tucheck, the devs are all but coming right out and saying that this game is all about the Jedi now, and the fact that the BH profession which was once intended to balance Jedi with the galaxy is now just a hinderance to subscription sales.

Yes it does affect how we kill, tabing through targets, no target macro, no hunting AFKers on kash, This changes a lot. And i dont "roll up" on "Brand new padawans", because most have a nifty thing called a laser rifle that does 1K damage a pop. So it changes the way i hunt because i may be forced to hunt padawans bye the system of randomly generated missons. And what is spynet for now anyway? It used to be the smartest information base in the universe and now what are they? Just a bunch of stinky bothans, that cant even find out the name of a target.

Its Been Real, Its Been Fun... But it hasn't been real fun. I hope that everyone that stays has fun with the NGE. And Remember....Stay Classy SWG ;-)
