I am still learning parts of the combat upgrade, so please bare with me. I fought several Jedi, and have had feeback that I need to get a better gun lol. Well I have a Proton Carbine, which I thought was meant to be pretty "hot" and had it sliced twice on damage and twice on speed (I think). Thje stats are below.

Customisation 85%

Imp Att Spd 4%

Enhanced Dam 4%

Att Spd 2.16

Mod Att spd 1.49

Dam 445 -889

Est base DPS 350.46

Mod DPS 508.56

SAC 85

In PVP though, well against Jedi, I only seem to be able to hit for about 230-310 DPS, whilst their attacks are double my damage (even 104k Jedi). What do I need to do to improve my gun. Is it possible for me to remove one of the speed slices, and get some more for damage. Do i buy mods?? I have heard they mess up your gun pretty quick??

Help and advice needed plz. Thanks

If you want to continue using this weapon then you need to throw on some PuPs to raise the max damage. Else, you'll need to find a better weapon. Look for max damage in the 950 and up range with low SAC.

Yeah ignore DPS. Look for max damage and SAC. 950 max damage I would say is the bare minimum, and the lower the SAC the better. Ignore any gun with a SAC of 120+ unless you can find some very nice food and drink combos (which I havent yet)

Actually, against some templates I hear you need to look at your min damage and accuracy mod too, not just your max damage. The issue is that as the Jedi's ranged defense exceeds your accuracy score, your damage slides toward the lower end of your weapons rating.

So... actually you might need several guns, and swap depending on your mark. I'm looking at picking up a Heavy Lightning rifle... even tho' I'm MCarb. (We need a high-end Electric Carbine, I think... )
