This is so bloody stupid..

I have grinded my way to MB and for the last 2 days i havnt killed a one.

Im MB.MR.pistold 0.0.0.4 and med..

i got a bloody good rifle..but when ever i get anywhere near the target they go coverd and run ?

what the hell is coverd my proibe droid can see them but i cant target them..then they go offline.

If its not that there on bloody kash, and anything over 19k just wipes my arse..

This just aint playing it fair..we grind to kill jedi's and people will prob post back saying u have to hunt them and pick there weekness.

well i say bolloks what weekness ?

you get the first strike on them so wati till they are almost dead and attack. You can't just go runing up to one and expect to kill him. with rifleman and cover you can sneak up on him. If he has time to heal and run your diong something wrong

Wait till they are almost dead and attack...? most jedi's i been hunintg are killing bols and such so they dont really get close to diein..

and regards the cover what range is the overhead map ? as soon as a jedi see's somone coming there off...way before u get anywhere near 200m

and the crawl speed when coverd will prob take me about 1 hr to get near them if i do it far enough away .

When they aren't on the Rryatt trail, use the rifleman ability 'Cover' from at least 170m away, then crawl up to him with your weapon away. Once you're about 85m away, use your food and stand up, rushing in witha startle shot, head shot, critical shot, etc, and once he comes within about 35m of you, root or snare. Then get some distance, then rinse and repeat. I got screwed over several times because of incap timer, so you might want to make a macro spamming crit shot, and THEN DB him on the second incap.

It seems like you are ignoring BHs that show you how to hunt a jedi. There are good answers here that show that it isn't 100% weighted towards the jedi. Consider that a BH can attack from 70m or more. With roots/snares it is VERY difficult for a melee profession to get into range. The jedi always runs when you see them? Do you expect anything different when the jedi is the ONLY one in the equation that has ANYTHING to lose in the fight? Most non-templated padawans realize that their chances of winning are pretty slim.

The OP says it's a problem because he hasn't killed a jedi in two days? How long did that investigation line take and how many bugged missions did you have? (I had a ton grinding a PvE only BH on Chilastra) That alone shoulld teach you the patience to not freak out about a two day inability to get your goal completed. Also, please consider that AFTER a grind that took as long as your template, the jedi player had to grind out the equivalent of 120million more weapons XP (this is considering combined weapons XP converting at 30:1 plus combat XP converting at 3:1. I can give the exact calculation if you need it), THEN there is the 36.5 million XP jedi template grind (at 1/5th the XP per kill and a "Long-term limiting factor" of the force bar). How fast can a player grind out the equivalent of 300 million MORE XP? I'll tell you that it takes far more than two days.

It appears that about half of the posters here are realistic and understand how difficult the jedi grind is (oh, and I realize that it's probably a lower percentage than that in the Jedi forums). It would appear that the rest expect the jedi hunt and kill to be an easy, fast and nearly guaranteed event. Considering that a death to me means losing 418k jedi XP, and that I attain jedi XP at the rate of about 30k XP/hr, this means that the kill takes 14 hours of my grinding time. The tracking/kill should take somewhere around that amount of time if there is to be ANY amount of fairness to the system.

Does anyone else think that costing a player 14 hours worth of time should be a guaranteed event that takes half an hour? Would it be more fair to just take the mission, launch a droid and have it return with the mark in carbonite?

I really have little problem with the XP loss system in the game since jedi isn't supposed to be easy. I DO have a problem with bounty hunters who expect their hunt to be EASY. The jedi suffers from the effort to regain the XP loss. You should at least have to work for the kill.

(oh, and please note that I posted here and in the Jedi forum stating that names on missions are not enough-Kashyyyk needs to give names as well.)

Its not easy...

Honestly... I've only been successful against full temps by ganking 'em when they're engaged with something meaner than I am.

I've gone toe to toe with a 179k paddy who did ran then /unstick'd away from me on the Ryatt. I /unstick'd after him and he decided to stand and fight at the gate. With CM2xxx healing, I was never in much danger. But I got soundly spanked by a 212k in a similar situation.

It can be done, butluck and the template of your mark have a LOT to do with it. And you have to realize a lot of your marks are gonna get away... and when they stand and fight, you're gonna die more often than not.
