Thread: Hunting Jedi

I've been reading a lot of these "what would you do if you werea Jedi" threads, and something that a lot of people write is that they're going to keep their identities top secret for fear that they'll be hunted down.

I'm curious why people think that they'll be easily killed? From my understanding of the Jedi system, a Jedi can only gain a TEF if force powers are used. So it doesn't really matter if people know your identity. If they hunt you down, so what. They can't attack you unless you have a TEF. I'm also wondering what these wannabe Jedi Hunters think they'll be doing? Are they going to shoot Darth Vader an E-mail telling him that a Jedi is in Bestine?

You find a Jedi, so how do you attack her if she doesn't have a TEF? Any person with half a brain would know not to use force powers around someone who could potentially attack her. And the only way you could take a Jedi down is if you were part of a VERY large mob. So why would a Jedi allow herself to be attacked around a VERY large mob.

The whole secrecy thing doesn't make sense. Besides, the moment one person sees a Jedi whip out a light saber, then I guarantee you that Jedi's name will be plastered all over these boards anyways.

The bottomline is that a Jedi character pays the same amount every month as the wannabeJedi hunters, so they also have the same anti-griefing protections as everyone else. You can't just step off a shuttle and kill a Jedi standing outside of the starport unless the Jedi consents (by using force powers), but I doubt anyone would consent knowing they only get three deaths.

It will still be a problem. A Jedi's ally is the Force. If you want to get the exp to be a Jedi Master, you will have to use the Force to kill things. How many times have you fought mobs for exp, and come across other players nearby? If one of you was covert while the other had TEF, how many times did both sides show restraint? Jedi will be in peril constantly.

Even if 1 person follows you around even a young jedi would be able to handle himself/herself against that 1 person without difficulty.

LOL. If I ever get it ( and im not planning on it for like 2-3 months) I would make a character LET it die by using force powers just so that every one know that they where real. Then when that character got deleated for to many deaths probley in 15 min, I would just make a new one. Then every one could have there proof and no one would know my new character. I think Id name my first character "JEDI ARE REAL". Make it super obvious.

lol if someone decided to follow me about till i attacked someone.. i'd just log off.

plus, as someone else said, it'd take a large group to take a jedi out. especially later on in lvls.. i mean, 1 guy folllowing u around, you'd deliberatly go TEF just to kill him lol.

I think the real question is, when you get a TEF as a Jedi, will YOU be able to attack everyone, or will only THEY be able to attack YOU, ala the current Revenge TEF system?

Haha. This is actually the BEST reason to keep a Jedi ID a secret.

If I were a Jedi, I wouldn't be afraid of being killed by players, I'd be afraid of being /tell'd to death.

let us not forget perma death. If a person is force sensititive, and they are getting injured, they can run or fight.

If they cannot escape, or they choose to fight, you better believe it will be fierce. You can also bet that they will use their force powers to full abilities.
