It's the quest which lead to the Blackscale Compound and battle in space. Fortunately for you, you don't have to go through all the quest to get the proton Carbin, in fact it's the first reward you'll get.Talk to the man in wookie armor on Ryatt Trail, he'll give you some stuff to kill, come back to him after you've done this, and there you go.

You can stop after this, but what follows is pretty fun to do, so I would advice to go through the entire quest
