I hate to be the one to tell you, but CL does not matter in PvP.


It has an indirect effect because a higher level player will have more max health and more accuracy and defense.


It has no direct effect like it does in PvE though.


You would hit another player more or less based on your accuracy and their defense but it caps at a certain point once you reach your weapons max damage.


He shot at someone with little defense and probably achieved his max on weapon. However just the fact that the guy was CL 42 doesnt really matter.


I am sure I could make a CL 75 or so template with more defense than certain CL 80 templates. Amor being Equal the CL 75 will take less damage becausae he has more defense.


If CL had a direct part in PvP the CL 80 would take less damage. Now if you take the same 2 players and throw them out in PvE, the CL 80 will take less damage because of the CL bonus in PvE

No you are right my trando is closer to 700 min than 650. Listen I play both a Jedi and a BH and no matter what you read on the forums a non-jedi with 15-20 mil to spend can buy a weapon of their chosen combat prof that will outdamage the best possible saber and those sabers are all but impossible to acquire if you didnt already have one (pre-cu biggest advantage is a higher base speed than post-cu on the saber shell) the pearls take much much longer to acquire with stats good enough to get your saber over 500-600 dam with a decent fc

I submit that you were fighting someone with the new SL enhancement that allows them to BYPASS your armor (not ab it but a complete bypass) and if you add a damage sl buff and a speed sl buff you would probably have seen an even faster fight.

I agree...I have never been hit that hard yet...i am sure i will come across a jedi that has high yield tough. It is going tobe rough.

Hey theres a thread on the jedi boards about BH's using SL to inflict huge damage on Jedi hahahah .

Anyway I was hitting a BH for 550 with head hit leghit combo without useing AB because I forgot, he was a MBH/MCM . I had a sl buff as we were testing the new stuff in our city when he turned up. Didnt seem to make that much difference maybe 50 odd damage. Nothing Id go out of my way to try and achieve as I can do enough with AB applied and a KD obviously. With AB applied i can get about 450-650 damage depending on the BH armour with a max 1000 plus on kd and power attack.

Saber is

619-719 for reference.

im not really stating it from CL standpoint .. im stating that with the skill boxes necessary to get to CL 80 the added defense putted agaisnt the attackers accuracy would have brought the weapon much closer to minimum damage?


i would have though that sense would have prevailed and protrayed my point in my statement .. but i can be detailed as well if debate persists

Theres been a change to armor break I think. Even with 75% AB resist slices my armor was reduced by 15%. Somethings been changed. A new full temp Jedi (he told me himself and I'd never heard of him before) hit me for almost 800 (it was just over 1300 initial hit) and I was wearing 8108 energy armor with 6000 elemental resists. My ranged defense (with ranged def drink) was 435.


Somethings changed so right now it's only feasible to do the snare long range kill on Jedi.

Yes something must have changed with Pub 24 because I seem to take more of a beating now. Before I could stand toe-to-toe with a Jedi, now it seems like they are doing way more damage than before and I am forced to kite.

700+ after mitigation on a BH with high defenses and armor rating IS an insane amount of damage. i really don't think you know what you're talking about.




What's your ranged defense? What kind of armor were you wearing at the time? Were you using any defense foods?
