Well put it this way, as a Jedi initiate you suck, so you're pretty weak, as a padawan or knight you're pretty strong, so your strength with a saber would be better and you'd own crap.

But in SWG you can't destroy static objects unless it's intended, so no random cutting down of stuff. But seeing how basically any elite combat class in this game can one-shot someone, there's no real judging "power." Now if you can 1 hit a fully buffed person with a saber, then that's pretty impressive I guess

But power with the saber is more so relative to the Jedi's lvl than the saber itself. I mean they do have different strength/attribute sabers, but basically the higher you go as Jedi the stronger you hit with the saber, it's not so much the saber itself, though you do get stronger ones as you lvl.

Well I would equate what you saw/experienced in the single player games for Star Wars to SWG as there is a tricky thing in SWG called balanced. You make the sabers too powerful and you have an unstoppable force and and even unstoppable "nerf the jedi" calls.

The problem is, Jedi are supposed to be next to unstoppable. Not completely invincible mind you but they should be able to take groups of 5-10 by the Knight level, with the current system this would never happen.

Take a power hammer, or a cleaver, or a 2h sword, jack it up to 1200-1400dmg, make itKinetic damagetype, and you've got a Lightsaber. Probobly one of the worst pvp weapons in-game right now. Its like swinging an overglorafied glowing baseball bat. You know, the devs didnt even have the decency to change the weapon animations. 1h saber is the exact same animations as a fencer with agaderafi baton, 2h saber is the saber as well any 2h weapon, and it looks very lame. But here on the other hand a scythe gets hours of devotion and work put into its animations.

The Lightsabers in this game are very dissapointing, where a rifle has a higher armor piercing rating and the LS does kinetic damage and the same piercing as a damn hammer.

You know what would happen if you hit a tree with a Lightsaber in SWG? It would bounce off and decay it 75 condition in the process.

Man that's some pscho dmg, and medium pierce with basically no HAM cost, I need one of those lol

Question, do you get to choose from diff saber hilts when you're making, or is the hilt just dependent on what lvl the saber is (I know you can make better as you lvl) or is it always the same and only diff is double and single?

On Bloodfin, a player Dark Jedi Guardian was recently killed by a group of six PC's (mostly combat classes). ONE of the attacking PC's survived to DB him. So yes, a skilled Jedi with a good saber is very powerful.
