TKA no works in pvp if you havent a vk fire mind dot.

hmmm... that is not a good statement of the way things work... i don't think you are very good at pvp

I dunno, but for me mind buffs + x2 cranape + x2brandy works well for me.

It is unforunate that PvP has come to be known as Mind wars.

the key for you is focus. and focus problems are solved with ahrisa. high focus and your moves cost next to nothing. personally for me...

two brandies, 1 ahrisa, and mind buffs if i can get them.

this leaves room in the stomach for thatkillo, synthstk. etc.

as far as strategy...play to your strengths. land state attacks. intimidate. warcry (not the exploit. fixed yet?) all have benefits and bring things to your level.

it is always wise to pick up a profession that will build on defense (as we lack a bit). but it is not necessary. granted you will not win every battle. but you will win some.

experiment and see what works for you. above all have fun.

This is all great advice...sounds like my problem was a low focus. Ill try the ahrisa idea. I have been going without vk's since i have been having a problem with this. Will the ahrisa negate the vk ham cost? That would be great!

On another subject...do you guys use unarmed combo 1 in PVP? I have heard some say that it works great against partially armoed foes. Anyone have any success/advice on this?

thanks to all for the help!

The only problem with the mind hit that ive noticed is when someone wears a high kinetic resist helmet. Ive pounded all day on those to no effect. Hopefully someday we'll get better vk's to combat that problem.

heh. you have run into the supreme problem with TK: nothing but kinetic damage and overpowered armor. the only way around this is to keep your opponent stunned and KD/dizzied. otherwise, you're not going to win without a loooooong fight.

i find ur usually ok if theyre not too good like they dont get buffed up properly lol or if theyre ranged and then u can do some decent damage also another tip is to get buffed in a medical city that way ur buffs will be 2700

Absoulotely rubbish, It really depends on your template and your VK, I have a 230 NO pup and dmg sliced, and I thorw a PUP and its around 260, I compltey eat up 85% Kin armour in around the 40s, that is pretty good i'd see seeing how its that being stunned and inti. Wihout stun or inti, i hit 80s to 100s when I UA Headhit on a person using a 85% helm.

In my last dual the guy i fought and myself were both unbuffed. He was a pikeman who challenged me but did not wear armor ( strange i thought, guess he wanted to die), then I just power boosted, 2 brandies, muon and poped on my armor, fully thinking this guy would /endduel before we started. Nope so i hit him with a kd, didn't stick the first time. He then got a hit in with a weak poison lance, so i kd'd again then followed with my macro ( intim, dizzy, unarmed hit3). He could not get up so before he could die he /endduel.

What my little story shows is how a good macro + food can keep ya going. The above macro also works for large scale pvp, just change unarmedhit3 to unarmedheadhit and you help out your rifleman.

Thanks everyone fo rthe good advice. The biggest change I have ever seen happened when i used ahrisa in conjunction with my music/dancer buffs, brandy, and powerboost. Now im finally getting more kills.

As with everyone else my problems are with the defense stackers and the pikemen with killer NS dot pikes. What are some of your tactics against these guys? On stackers i have found that getting them stunned and int and keeping them that way is a must. That way I do pretty well....still a long fight but i do well. Those pesky dot pikemen are tough. A lot of them make the mistake of not wearing armor on their legs, which is easy to target. I can get thm if they forget an armor piece but if they are fully armored with a good dot pike...hmmm, im screwed.

The key for me is doing the things that other people tend to forget like int, stun, lunge, warcry....etc

Any other good advice on fighting a stacker or against dot weapons?

im twilek. which means 500 cap on focus/willpower. in pvp you dont need anything more than helmet/chest/gloves/boots. if your human (1k or 1100 focus willpower. not sure exactly) you can afford to euip arms/legs when your fully buffed. otherwise its much more sensible to just cut them out. too much ham cost with not enough gain. as a twi. with no armor equipped average vks and just 2 brandys. i get 15 mind cost with UAHit3 and 11 with mindhit........add a helmet to that and im lookin at 24ish/19ish. which adds up really quick. thats with enc. sliced armor mind you. to cut these mind costs out your gonna have to keep your focus at 1400 at least. which in my case reqcuires mind buffs or ahrisa/canape.

im a tkm bh. and with noother defenses stacked i just forgo the food as i need it for thak/synth.and just get mind buffs..........you pretty much need mind buffs to compete in pvp anymore.

so......id suggest you get some enc sliced armor(make sure all your points are migrated to mind and mind subs) and stay mind buffed all the time

Key to winning ANY battle as a TKM is to keep ALL the states on them. I see SOOO many TKM's just use KD2 then spam UH3. I tell them use UC1, but they laugh at me. Then they lose and I just say /shrug

I have proven it time and time again on my server. In mass PVP, spam UH3, since you just need overall damage. BUT, on normal 1v1 duels, if mind attack doesn't work, use combo. You will scare yourself the first time with how effective it is.

But yea, the key to any battle is states, no joke there

Does anyone have any advice for a MBH/MC/4xxxCM who is intrested in PVP? Or would it be the same as against jedi?
