I am so glad you made this post. You killed 2 very skilled BH's. I don't think there is a BH here who wants to become your platform to a higher PVP rating. When the BH's cannot win against you, even the most skilled of BH's, and you are no longer a threat to anyone, I wonder what devs will decide to do. How will they bring balance? Hmmm? Just think about that one.

I've been a bounty hunter through two years of nerf bat beatings. I'm not going anywhere.
I'll either adapt and find ways to kill the mark, or I'll retire from scouring terminals and concentrate on rp, but I've put too much into this profession and the character to give it up.

A guildmate got hunted last night and beat. I offered the BH to duel me afterwards, wanting to see how Id do vs. a good BH (as he just killed a close FOTM).
I was a bit lucky, his food seemd to run out / stomach full as I incapped him. I think the view of my face was way more worth it then his... MPower / MEnhancer ftw! *lol*
It wasnt that much later that a BH popped up and I warned my guildmate that a BH was there ... and I got hit.
Needless to say it was a quick one ...
I learned two lessons ... prepared a BH is a challenge, but a challenge you can calculate as non FOTM.
Given the element of suprise the calculation goes down the drain ... well down the XP.
I dont want to think about the "hardcore" BHs like Ajianna (she wrote a great BH guide)targeting a pretty casual (an non FOTM) Jedi. I see a lot of XP going there.
But I am happy for all the old time finished jedis, specially the old FRS ranked ones, that they will have a challenge now again.
I think Pub 20 made a better game of the situation, even though there is still a TON of room for improvement.
It surely will teach all of the jedis to pvp again, for some at a bitter cost :-)

What happens to those of us who hunted jedi exclusively for having dumb names?
Makes me sad that I can't do that any more lol.

Im glad i retired my long hunting carriere with the CU..
All i do now is walk around being a symbol of old MBH´s along with a couple others!
The CU ruined the fun for me, even being able to kill Knights didnt satisfy, my hunting style was ruined! Real stalking, timing and not to forget "planning" was gone, and i guess its gone forever!
I havnt picked up a missions since 2 days after the CU went Live but i can see now that Pub20 has ruined a lot for "organized" hunters and looking at the payment! Ouch... Reminds me almost of the time we only got 15k for killing any Jedi, rolf! Im still dreaming about the 1mill+ Bounties and how happy i was to cash those inn!
BAH, im running off topic and day dreaming again, pre-CU is never coming back!
Good Luck to the hunters still in buiness...

heyyyy !! lots of smugglers are real quality pvp'ers and 99% of smugglers are really cool people in general

i am willing to bet that ALL player bounties will be in the Master box of bounty hunter, so no, it wouldn't be easy and fun for 'n00b BH'
there are plenty of qualified, very dangerous PvP smugglers out there. don't forget lots of bounty hunters take up smuggler for concussion shot and / or last ditch
i really like the idea of adding player bounties to the game. not just smugglers, but player bounties. when the idea first serfaced there was talk of players being able to take bounties out on one another. this could obviousely lead to griefing if names were still on the terms. but with the terminal changes, and the change to the system it is VERY possible to add this feature. it could lead to some very interesting hunting for a bounty hunter when he shows up to find out that his mark is a Master Rifleman / Master Pistoleer / 0404 Combat Medic...
all in all it could add interest to EVERYONE in the game.

i have been trying to keep this thread from turning into a flame fest, and thus far the overall tone of this thread has been constructive, but there are those who feel the need to come in troll off topic.
IF in fact this thread were meant to bea taunt, believe me... you would know it. if i had wanted to bring up the fact that from the catastrophe that was DAY ONE with the crashes and the adventure planets that were not working, the profession that is Bounty Hunter DID NOT CONTAIN PLAYER BOUNTIES and was not intended to, i would have. if i wanted to bring up the fact that the idea that somehow Bounty Hunters are "population control" for Jedi was COMPLETELY generated by players and NOT the developers, i would have done that. ifi had wanted to point out that the VERY SAME bounty hunters who say things like "Funny how the same fully templated loudmouths ran like rabbits util they filled in that final box...then they suddenly transformed into tough guys." are the ones who say "Jedi should stay in hiding to stay off the terms. they shouldn't show off thier powers and fight in public." a statement that means they should run when confronted. how else do you keep from fighting in public when you are confronted by a bounty hunter in public?
at any rate i could go on and on pointing out problems with the dynamic between what the players have come to think bounty hunter should be vs. the fact that bounty hunter was an Elite, high-end content profession that opened up a mini-game of hunting NPCs when SWG started. try as you might you will never change the fact that the LONG TIME bounty hunters know to be true. Players who have been bounty hunters sinse they had to Master Marksman and Master Scout, when there were no mounts or vehicles, when there was a 10 minute shuttle wait, when armor was terrible, and weapons even worse, when there were no doc buffs and LONG before any talk of a Combat Upgrade. the Bounty Hunter profession DID NOT CONTAIN PLAYER BOUNTIES until later, end of story.

Even though I have been a MBH for a couple years now, and can't disagree with most of what has been said. I do however want to point out the fact that just because a person has just started playing the game and made MBH in a few months of play...(not a respec mind you) but not to say that there aren't decent respect BH's. I have to say, and from what I have read allot of lately... there seems to be a bit of grumbeling inside the BH ranks between the Pre and the Post CU MBH's. Ya, ya, I'm sure that atleast 80% if not more of the new guys will buckel under the pressure of Pub20. I won't discount them all. I have met a couple that are relatively new over the last month or two and was very impressed with there professionalism. Even in joking with a few Jedi that had just killed them, the Jedi had nothing bad to say about them and even incouraged them. So, when you say this Publish will seperate the real BH's from the lost souls whom wear the tag over there head.....just be carefull of the wording you use. There are some (SOME) new guys out there that are actually pretty dang good and moving there way up.

Now we just have to waste a lot of time waiting for the seekers to see if it is a dumb name or not, but trend on my server is that 80% of the names are dumb so my chances are good
