Add titles like BlackSun Master Bounty Hunter, or something like that.

Boba Fett was paid much higher in for any piece of hard merchandise. Why? Because he was reliable. If he tookthe job he finished the job, no bribes, no fear. I'd like to hear that the bounty hunters in SWG get the same treatment. A bounty hunter should be ranked on and paidfor his ability to kill Jedi...the higher the kill to death ratio, the higher the pay across the board. It's in place for the Jedi, why not put one in place for the Bounty Hunters? There are obvious limits, such as repetitive killing of the same Jedi. Perhaps the system would only allow you to get ranking points for each jedi but only once while that jedi's hidden difficulty level is the same.
From the non-BH, here's a topic, talk amongst yourselves.

Ideas like this are great, but you need to take into considerations things like Jedi that hide in houses, which means you need to abort your mission, which means you failed it. Doesn't work very well.
Another thing to remember is that after the CU a MBH will be able to be a melee person also.

You just have to make a name.... You havnt heard of BH being feared? lol
I only have 38 kills to my name, as I havnt been hunting in a while due to making preps for hte CU, but in my heydey there were a few cities that would ban you if you spoke my name. The best part was, those same cities treated me with utmost respect and cordiality when I came through... even though they hated and feared me. The main thing is though, it wasnt because I was the most powerful BH out there, it was because I was clever, and found ways to get just about every jedi in that city, even under the nose of their jedi knight protectors/or peers.
Thats the biggest thing I love about BH... the new dimensino of player interaction that it opens up.

Awesome idea.
To the statement that post-CU MBH can be melee as well: works for me. Damned if I have any right to tell anyone what style of combat they should adopt- it's about satisfying the contract, not some elitist idea that only ranged people should be allowed to take a job...
As to Jedi hanging out in their houses: my thoughts, honestly, are that there should be no timer on vis. The devs would have to fix any bugs in the vis system that exist currently (Jedi dies to BH=Jedi comes off the terms until he gets vis back, etc.), but hiding in a house, or just not logging in your Jedi for a week and a half (or whatever) shouldn't cancel the mission. Either the Jedi dies, or the Jedi kills 5 BHs, otherwise the Jedi stays a target. So if you're a BH, and you take the mission, you either finish...or you cancel because you're too lazy/impatient to wait the Jedi out... and YOUR vis goes up. (Obviously, timed missions would not apply to PC Jedi).
Also: if 5 BH can take a mission on a Jedi at one time, shouldn't each of the 5 be eager to get the mark, first? This would fit into the story-arc (read the insane inter-community struggle for control of the frozen Han Solo). If 2-3 BH's group with the same mission to take down a Jedi, they split the reward and subsequent BHRS points. The ones who didn't get there fast enough gain vis (it is a failed mission after all).
Will this promote backstabbing and cutthroat competition among BH's? ABSOLUTELY. Dammit, it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY- we are Bounty Hunters, lol. Not soldiers (although some may once have been), not cops (although we do prey on the "criminal" element). I've had hunts get hosed by other BH's before- I'm sure we all have- and I've screwed other people up, too. Big whoop. I failed, oops, better watch my back, now: I'm prolly gonna have company....
My 2 creds.

All professions should have something like this after master I think. Everquest had the AA points that you could put your xp in, took forever to get anywhere with it too, just a simple system like that would make me happy, even without the ranking system.
