depends on their DPS and also if their using the special color crystals. But they would need some kick arse resources and alot of luck to make their saber that good.

does it count if they're guildmates/friends and you're not attacking each other?
On a more serious note, the tricks really are to not ever stay within range of a jedi, unless you're something like a master teras kasi/master pikeman who kd's, int's, warcry's, stacks def (CoB), takes synthsteak, etc. or if you're another jedi (and there are jedi/Bh out there, they crack me up 
) the strength of ranged is the roots, snares, kd's, delays, etc. The only reason you should ever come within 15m of a jedi that you're trying to kill is if you're an MCM and have them paralyzed to apply debuffs, or for whatever reason are coming in for the db. kite them, root them, snare them, state them, do what you can but stay at range.

1k damage in PVP yep, decent saber armour break and power attack and KD.
Overpowered? Hmm not sure about that, some templates are going to be better than others sure but then i could say the same about some BH templates being overpowered, rifleman hit for over 1k easily. The difference now is we cant heal like we could, elemental damage has been fixed, armour break has been fixed, we now hit harder so have to rely on attack more than healing to win the fight.
I had a great fun fight with a BH the other day, im mpowers and only novice defender and vs a cm bh we were both healing the same and dealing damage it was just a case of who was going to mistime their heal first unfortunatly it was me but enjoyable none the less. Id say at present jedi is the most balanced it has ever been.

Yes but if I spell it incorrectly i get to see if anyone notices and if they do it usually gives me a good exscuse to pad my post count which at the moment is horribly low.

it depends on teh saber, mine has rubbish crystals/pearls so i cant hit for over 500 in pvp lol
