Thats not the reason i quit but there is one memory i will share with everyone. That stays in my star wars ... Memory forever.
I first started and i said WOW this game is SO awsome man i wonder how to play. Being the way i was i threw the manual out the window and went straight to playing. And i met this group that wanted to go hunt and we hunted all night in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of mos eisley and we had a GREAT time Giant worrts then chilling by the camp fire swaping jokes and talking about star wars in general... Not a care in the world as to credits or Uber items. I return to mos eisley and i find it deserted of "noobs" no one there no groups. Its like if someone dropped a neutron bomb in the middle of the noob hunting arena. And i was sad. I still go there if i want to start a new template to get the Small brawler or marksman boxes up. Now its all about UBERNESS and mass credits and JEDI!! What was once a wonder for me is now agonising. I wish that things could be just like the old days wondering about jedi... Yeah i remember when Doc Buffs where like what??! When i first heard about them im like COOL. Wow.. Yeah the good old days..

Quiting also....
For me that last memory is way back... back before Jedi... before uber items.... before death penalty..... before buffs.....
When almost everyone carried a CDEF (Something) and hunting on Dantoonie was actually dangerous!
I remember the Big Game Hunts... thats what ppl used to called them. I used to be extremely cautious on Dant and wouldn't stray a few feet from the Imperial Outpost which was always overrun with monsters. I used to group with the biggest group I could because usually taking aggro off a Piket meant that you would be seeing the cloner. I remember seeingthe laser beams flying everywhere as a full group was out there taking down Pikets... it was grand. This was a world set in the Star Wars universe that had a different angle from the rest of them.... No Jedi... No starfighters.... Just your character making his own way like it says on the box. This, was Star Wars Galaxies to me.... This game doesn't exist anymore
Peace

I too have been considering the consequences of my actions. I made Jedi post 9, pre 10. Yes I'm new to this, but I learn quickly.
First, they say this is not a 'grinding' game. What is Jedi if not an incredibly difficult grind. Not only has the exerience requierements gone up, but the experience rates have been reduced, by many factors. Am I missing something? Is there another way to get Jedi experience? I don't think so.
Bye to old hunting friends. Visibility issues and subsequent experience losses forces one to become a solo player. At least at my stage. I'm only LS 0010, but I was much more powerful in ANY other elite combat profession at that stage. I'm told it get's better.
Bye to armor and psg's... Why?
A dangling carrot? Possibly... am I that hungry? Franchise is correct about the state of the game. I don't think I'll get JTL. I'm still considering the consequences of my actions.

If you think ANY online game can keep you feeling like a dumba$$ noob forever, then you are a delusional fool. People will learn to play the game, then people will figure out the most "efficient" way to master their respective trades. No online game will ever feel new forever. I'm justsick of these whiny posts, AWWWW jedi ruined the game! No they didn't, you just admitted to hologrinding, you only ruin the game for your self. If your enjoyment is "that" wrapped up in what "others" do then you seriously need to seek help and seek it quickly. It's like saying, god there are too many professional ball players so now I can't enjoy a game of basketball. The game always has and always will change, accept it or quit, you really won't be missed at all.
Am I am saying there weren't bad choices made by the dev team? No I am not, I know the game has issues, but you point out one MMORPG that never did. However looking at all your pissy little rants, I can point out how jedi are NOT the core of your little frustrations.
Jedi did not invent vehicles to keep you from using your feet.
Jedi did not invent the buffs in this game that make people nearly invincible against just about any mob there is therefor eliminating the need to group.
Jedi did not craft 80 percent comp armors making people nearly invulnerable.
Jedi didn't stop the sale of cdef weapons, weaponsmiths got more skilled and made what they could...you could simply stop getting buffed and use your training saber.
Jedi did not ruin the GCW...you give me an example, ANY example of when the GCW made any sense, when anyone really gained or lost anything and there were penalties bigger than just cloning 100 m away and coming back out without a care in the world.
These are just a few points, you're only saying that you can't evolve with the times, I'd respect it if people just came out and said it instead of pointing at someone else and crying like a Pu$$y

I hate to say it, but it doesn't exist anymore because you don't let it. You can still go on the hunts and sit in campfires and exchange jokes. My guild does that all the time. We stillhunt stuff for fun, not for credits. Yeah, we're always on the lookout for some uber-weapons but we don't let it consume us. You have to remember to let yourself have fun. Grinding, for one, I think is the number one killer in the game, but you were never meant to grind in this game. Granted, the old Jedi system of professions constituted grinding, but SOE I'm sure never intended on seeing people grind professions in a day and then complain that there is no content. There's plenty of content, and plenty of noobs everywhere. This game is very much alive as it was before.
I'm sad to see anyone leave this game, because I think somehow they forgot what made this game fun to being with. I mean, come on, it's an online game! 80% of people are on Dantooine solo hunting! You get mass amounts of money to buy that uber-weapon or that uber-armor, but are you still having fun? The whole point of an online game is to develop a system of multi-player gameplay, but most people here have found a way to turn SWG into a single-player game.
I can say that I've been guilty of the solo hunting and at one point did lose a great deal of interest in the game. But then I just sought out some noobs in Mos Eisley and they thought I was a God with all the stuff I had! I never thought with everything I had done, that I had really accomplished anything and certainly didn't think of myself as a God (no I don't have that complex thanks). However, when I go back to the beginning and realized what I had before, I realize that I really have done a lot with this game. In fact, I amstill realizing that I have so much more that I can do!
Best wishes to all of you in whatever you do. I hope you find a video game that peaks your interest for as long as,if not longer than Star Wars Galaxies.

"Jedi didn't cause this, jedi didn't cause that"...
in my opinion Jedi is the single biggest thing that ruins the game, its continuity, its playing style etc.
And yes, when everybody is given a holocron its very understandable people start to grind... holocron presents must be the beginning of this..
And who am I? just another Jedi wannabe, and why? The game is so focused on jedi now I can't find any other goal than to become one.
It's not the feeling of being noob that we are searching for, but you sure won't understand that.

Quit also, what they have done to this profession is unacceptable to me. The people are ruining this game with there cries. Hope in the end atleast those that cried nerf will be here to enjoy what they force the developers into making. Nerf nerf nerf..

Well, jedi where the icing on the cake of problems this came has that is causing many ppl to leave. So lets look at the recipe of destruction:
We start with a big bowl to work in the core ingrediants
1. We toss in the uber armor that !/2 of the weapon specials useless.
2. We toss in uber buffs and food that render all other specials useless.
3. Improper adjustments of weapon damage to make some professions useless.
4. Improper adjustments to defence for some professions useless.
5. making content to tuff for the majority of players is useless.
6. Saying the combat balance was being put off for a long time after months of the devs leading us on was useless.
7. Making it that all GCW fighting in the game was very weak and again useless.
8. Not even haveing a few dedicated ppl for just fixing bugs in the game, is useless.
I use to have fun in the begining befor armor and buffs became uber. It was fun grouping with ppl because it was mostly the only way to fight most of the stuff in the game. The only reason im still playing(or better yet, waiting) is for JTL. If JTL dont help get my friends back in the game, i might have to (gasp) go back to DAOC(ah where real cool 300+ppl battles can happen without crashing), or try out WOW when it comes out. Or just maybe i will stick with Doom 3 and design my own mods/maps.. I really hope the combat revamp fixes alot of things in the game, but the devs reallt messed up and thought we wanted JTL first (a little secret devs, ppl will come for JTL, but to keep the current subscribers you should of fixed what was broken to keep many in the game.) It dont take a genius to figure out that a good running core game will keep your current players happy and JTL would of helped bring in more.
