OH YEAH! Didnt' they say you can not and would not know the path to become a jedi? That changes 1 year later.

Don't tell the devs what they can't do because they will even if it leaves all logic and reason behind.

Because of this, some players will have to imediatly give up missions that are on Kashyyyk simply because they are not going to be accessible to them. This reason in itself is reason enough why you could not implement this idea.

Guys why are you giving this guy so much response time? He hasn't even bothered to reply to the thread. He is just spewing diarrhea of the mouth. Don't let these guys bait you into any arguments. He came over here rambled a few ideas that he clearly didn't think about in depth and bolted. Look through some of his past posts and you will see what kind of thought process he has.

Whilst I can see what the OP wants to achieve here (BH selection of tgt and BH shields), this idea won't work too well, for all the reasons already stated. BH would end up being punished because their mark is house sitting, their mark is on kash, their mark logged, their mark turned out to e a friend, etc, etc, etc.


When you consider that amount of time and droids that a BH would have to expend to select a particular mark that he know is low level, I really don't think it will happen enough to require any kind of fix, and certainly not a fix that will end up punishing the inocent and unlucky more than the guilty.

if ever i saw a boneheaded post by a jedi here, this would be it.


i took 10 random missions on jedi tonight. do you know how many i had to drop? 8 out of them.


why? because all 8 were afk inside private structures. this truly is the major problem with publish 20. you all don't notice it now because you're too busy picking up missions on jedi whom you know are out and about. now that publish 20 is finally here, you will now see what it is like to constantly pick up missions on housesitters. it's a HUGE waste of time, resources, buffs, etc.


most online jedi are afk inside of a private house. mark my words.

what exactly is delusional about it? we have a 6 second timer on our heals...even a master healer only has 2 heals available, one of which is practicly unusable in pvp...so we have one heal that heals 1000 damage at heal 2000 (22sp)OR 1500 damage at 4000, you only get one or the other, if you train the higher one, you no longer have access to the lower one....compare this with MEDIC 0020....bacta shot with attachments, a 1200 heal every 5 seconds...or if you went medic 0200 instead...you get healing bacta shot AND bacta toss...in this situation, with attachments, shot is around 900, and toss is around 750...they are on SEPERATE timers...meaning you dont have to wait for one to cooldown before using the other, thats the equivalent of 1650 every 5 seconds...which is greater than our best non master heal...now if you step up to med 4440/master doc....you get bacta shot at 1600 heal, toss at 1250, spray at 1050,and jab at 850...on top of that, you have infusion, now, if ya went CM (really the more viable option 0400)you would miss jab and infusion, but you gain other things...but lets use master doctor as the comparison...thats a 3850 heal every 5 seconds...the insanely high force (for total heal) and mind cost (yes, a doctor or CM's is much lower) for jedi healing ensures that even a master jedi healer couldn't outheal you for more than a few rounds.....now...lets move onto damage:


first...to even start as a MLS your gonna be spending in the neighborhood of 20-80 million for pearls/crystals...assuming you dont already have a handy stockpile (most don't...high quality don't drop currently) we'll just be generous and assume you get your sabers damage up to 600min 700 max w/ a 1.25 modified speed and your elemental at around 225, with an sac of 96 at best....our highest damage move requires us to be stationary, and you withing 5m...thats for 2.5 damage...the best attacks we have when your not stationary is 1.8 damage multiplier, compare that with:


a rifleman with a speed pup'd (we can't power up lightsabers) adv laser rifle with a damage of 500-1180 and a 1.1 speed and a sac of 82 with usable specials that allow you to consistantly attack, while moving, with a 2.0 and 1.8 modifier....which can be used from 65 m...farther with ranged arms...and for what? maybe 5 mil? 10? you can get it cheaper.


now...imagine if you will, we start face to face, and you don't run, and for the favor, the jedi doesn't use power attack...for you to fire 10 shots takes 11 seconds....for me to make 10 attacks with the saber takes 12.5, now so far it doesnt seem that bad right?


now keep in mind...with rifleman you get the ability to wear armor...you get a 65 m range...we've already discussed what master doc will give to you as far as healing


we're comparing a master healer and master lightsaber vs a master doctor and master rifleman we'll, just for kicks, so he doesn't die in the first 6 seconds say the jedi spent all his remaining skill points on def 4400 to get innate armor so he has 5400 (44%resist) innate armor vs recon armor of say, 7000 (52.5%resist)energy


after damage multiplication and armor resistance...assuming alternating hits (no healing)your raw damage excluding acc vs def mitigation is 5320-12555


after damage multiplication and armor resistance...assuming alternating hits (no healing)the jedi's raw damage excluding acc vs def mitigation is 5130-5980


but wait...remember...your speed is quicker...that will allow you to launch off one more shot, for an additional 532-1255 damage, we'll just leave that out tho


so...given the the jedi's ranged defense will be...even if he has FS ranged defense, with just defender 4400 is 135


and the rifleman's melee defense is 35....imagining that neither is using foods


you can see the range for damage is much narrower for the Jedi....so lets say riflemans defense doesnt lower jedi's max damage at all


and even tho its a gross exageration, we'll say that 135 jed ranged defense vs a rifleman's acc lowers rifle max output by 25%:


your looking at 9416 damage over a 10 shot/11 second period


vs a 5980 damage over a 10 hack/12.5 second period


so lets recap....master doc heals at 3850 ery 5 sec (more sustainable due tolower mind cost)and master rifleman damage at 9416 damage in 11 seconds


vs jedi master healer heals at 4500 ery 6 seconds (less sustainable due to higher mind cost AND force cost) and damage at 5980 damage over a 12.5 second period.


the two things I left out is that MLS has a 25 saber block...which will effectively reduce your 10 hits for 9416 to 7062, but again, in real combat, you dont need to stay within 5m of your opponent, and if your out of the jedi's range, he cant hit you, even saberthrow only has a 32m range vs a rifleman's 65(+w/ ranged arms)


to summarize....are you ever going to see a MLS/MHEAL/def 4400 template? probably not...I just showed you why


will you see Master docs/Master riflemen? of course...theyre all over the place. As a BH? no, not enough SP to do it...there is another option tho.


you can outheal (over time)AND outdamage us (up front, and over time)...there is no doubt about it...do your own research if you need further proof...the big factors in real pvp are defenders aura and valor, and the intangables of enhancer and powers....defenders aura is a big boost to defense, and valor doubles the 25 saber block...so thats why you don't see this huge damage differential in alot of cases...it is there tho, and with the intagables...too much to get into, but the thing to remember is jedi skills are very expensive, particularly at the low levels, you won't see many successful dabblers...but I will tell you this...a master doc/master rifleman or cm 0400 (or better)/master rifleman is a tough opponent for a jedi of any template, assuming both are equally knowledgable and profficient with the skills and abilities at thier disposal.


perturbed? yes. delusional? no.


*NOTE* I left out MLS's Bleed and Armor break for two reasons....any BH worth the air they breathe who is serious about their profession will purchase or otherwise aquire the components for the smuggler 75% armor break resistance slice, the money you saved vs the Jedi on the weapon will more than pay for them and second, note I did not include any other specials on the rifleman's side.


some numbers were approximated...but none are far off, any that are tend to favor an underestimate of the regular profession's ability for demonstration's sake.
