Couldn't agree more. If I where a Pistoleer I would consider the Scatter or a DX2. I've now started to see some great DX pistols. The only reason to go Commando if you where a Pistoleer is the wow factor of using the Launcher and after a few weeks that wears off quick. I would take a Scatter any day over my Launcher. I can use both at this time.. too bad it doesn't give me Heavy Weap Exp.

I'm a n00b and contemplating this problem, but my answers would be:

1) pistoleers have very nice defensive bonuses.

2) sure the dx2 is better, but pistol specials make the launcher better and ppl are playing commando do use the big weps. Someday, in my personal dream world, I'll enjoy using the commando weps on AT-STs/large groups and switching to pistol to clean up the rest.

3) smugglers are the other common companion profession potential, but don't have any increased pistol skills mods or defensive mods.

Who uses a Launcher Pistol?

"You can get certification for Laucher pistol at Novice Commando. Everybody can use it though but without certification you receive some considerable penalties."

I am almost possitive that this statement is untrue......The only people that can use a weapon are the ones that are certified for it..........If i am wrong please let me know.......

I could use a lightsaber if I found a working one. I would just suffer huge damage penalties with it. Same goes for any other weapon I'm not certified to use.

actually only jedis can use lightsabers.... but if it is not one they made they will suffer pentalies

as for guns though... anyone can use.... but if no cert there are penalties

I can use one but am not certified. So when I hit, I only hit for like 8 damage and have no aim!

Finally got a Krayt Tissue enhanced Launcher Pistol.

28% Damage slice made it 60-296 with 2.3 delay. Using body shot 2 I've had a max hit for over 800 now.

This was using the basic tissue +30dam -.3del

Used it vs. Rancors last night due to the very high heat resists and had a blast.

You should get last ditch attack for kicks and see what you can do with a 32% damage powerup on it, too.

Hmm, not doing smuggler but yeah gotta remember to put a PU on it and see what I get. Needless to say I'll be looking for Krayt groups for a while, at least until I can get a Flamethrower made with tissue (Takes 5 I believe).

I've also heard there are tissues for armor. Anyone know if it's usable in any armor or just specific ones?

Yes all of them.

what type of xp do you get with the launcher pistol is it pistol heavy weapons and combat? please tell if you know thanks.
