Hi all,

I just came back from a years break and decided to re-spec as a MBH. So I go and collect some good weapons, droidsand armor then set about getting my first Jedi bounty.

So i track my bounty down only to findout that they can cloak, wIf?!is this true? If so what were the devs smoking? When did Jedi cloak in the films and run to a house?

If true, how can i kill my bounty when it is invisible?

Disappointed

Great another Respec BH crying on the forums.

If Jabba's mind (a slug) was strong enough to resist the clouding you would think others have the mind strength as well. It could also be implemented based on the number of kills (the more kills the better chance of resisting, but that would limit players that don't get to play multiples hours everyday to hunt multiple jedi). Another problem with the kill system is there would be no way to account for a long fight that took strategy compated to afk/ld kills because there is a difference even though afk/ld kills are "strategic" kills.
Just my 2 cents.

I disagree. No looted item should negate abilities that one has to buy with skill points, simply for the fact that loot is available in abundance while skill points are very limited (and therefore most valueable).
Bounty Hunters wouldnt like it if Jedi could loot an item that would allow them to confuse BH droids to the extent of giving false waypoints, either.

You lie, noob. Stasis breaks on dmg, so jedi can hit you with his "700 max dmg saber" only once. And you can heal while in stasis, which is BS. Oh, and you have over 1k max dmg weapon and you still whine. Get skill.

He is talking about the KD recovery bug it seems. Happens to Jedi also, though. And people cant call for "balance" (nerfs) to other skills based on bugs in their own skillset.

If you think /cloak sux when your mark goes invisible, wait till you try to declare next. Then you will see how bad cloak sux.

clue : For every recruiter in the Galaxy there are dozens of Cloakers.

... which in turn - assuming some common sense - should lead to people declaring at faction bases instead of well-known recruiters where they are protected by NPCs. Smugglers have been doing this for a long time when delegating faction. SWG is a group game, the lonesome roaming S.F. player has become a myth. If you go overt alone, you will be ganked, and it really doesnt matter if you get ganked by cloakers at the recruiter or by another group of overts when you load into the next starport.

Jedi won't change thier temp just to get cloak in a master box... Too much loss of offense... Most jedi I know care about the GCW PvP... Where if your a master powers.. you will not be as prosperous as a Master Lightsaber.... Plus if they kept master lightsaber and got Mpowers they would lose a great deal of defense or thier healing abilities...

This is spot on.

People who have Cloak and not MPowers fit into one of two categories (or both in some cases):

1) People who want to have a means of escaping BHs (the "I Win" button)
2) People who want to gank opposing faction SF players without them knowing they are there.

I'd wager most people fit into the second category - and if you put Cloak in the MPowers box very few of them would forfeit MDef or MLS to pick it up. BHs and players in general would get the best of both Worlds then - less Jedi doing the cloak n' run on BH missions, and less Jedi pulling/generating/avoiding aggro in places like DWB.

I don't know how much you guys know about Cloak, but you get aggro even when cloaked - except nothing can hit you. Therefore, hypothetically speaking, if there were a bunch of near-impossible mobs between your group and "the prize", you could quite easily pull them away and just have them standing around you, aggro'd but unable to do anything, whilst your group wanders past. I've had 2 Krayt Ancients and a Giant Canyon Krayt sat on my head whilst cloaked and it has made negligible difference to my Force pool.

Anyway, that's a seperate issue. I think you'll find that most Powers users want Cloak moved to the Master box, where it can be used by people who are actually dedicated to the tree, as opposed to dabblers just picking it up for gank fests.

I honestly didnt mind people dabbling to get it but the repeated abuse in much the same way as FD used to be is going to get it nerfed.

Mpowers isnt exactly the strongest set of abilities as it is and nerfing cloak would pretty much screw that skillset over completely.

I totally agree. If they nerfed Cloak it would render Powers more pointless than it currently is. I would whole heartedly support it being moved to MPowers, simply because I'm MPowers because I want to be, and it suits my RP and mentality, not because I want to be "teh uberest" (otherwise I'd just be FOTM MLS/Mdef).

What a load of carebear crap.

You dont want to fight? I dont care. In the films when Boba fett is tracking Jedi, did the Jedi turn round and say "oooh excuse me boba i dont want to fight" and Boba said " oh ok, ever so sorry, ill be leaving now, bye"

If it wasn't for the carebear remark, i probably would have let this post pass... but as it is....

If you're going to use the movies as justification for in-game actions, at least watch the damn movies to begin with and actually witness what happens. At no point in any of the 6 movies did a bounty hunter, let alone boba fett actually hunt a jedi.

when in the movies did jedi ever use cloak? there had to be at least one jedi that had it.
