You need to have a CM duel you while you have the jedi within the DoTs area effect range, since you can´t target him up there.

Poison/Disease Combo does incap you 3 times in a row, since the max. number of "ticking" points is estimated by the pool size when the

poison hits. The disease afterwards decreases the max pool, makeing the poison tick into the negative numbers.

You will die as well unless you have cure kits handy.

The fact that it does kill is a bug/flaw, the application of DoTs through (invisible) walls as well, and if done on purpose it

*might* be considered to be an exploit or griefplay, so I would not try that actually.

I would agree that it might be considered an exploit, but quite frankly I would be cheering from the sidelines. I consider rooftop afk macroing a worse crime.

Forgot to add that:

This isn´t meant as a manual to DO it, but as a clarification how it works and what happens why.

If you go out "hunting" TEF´d opposing players (Jedi or not) on roofs and balconys, keep in mind this ins´t

only lame, it *could* cause you trouble.

Just don´t claim the board said you should.

Does not really differ from macroing any other prof, either with ingameor with 3rd-party tools.

And to ease your mind a little - the XP gain from it isn´t really a killer. An Initiate needs roughly 10 days 24hr-afk-macroing to fill a 4th box,

so he won´t be "Master in 5 days" without any work or risk.

Killing Meatlumps afk to gain loot and credits isn´t any better, since that actually takes it away from newbies for whom those mobs are meant.

So calm down, no need to be jealous, or angry about an unreachable mission target.

I know the xp gain is pathetic (thank the lord). I am a jedi (4223). The reason I dislike the rooftop afk macroing is because it adversely affects BHs. I agree 100% with BHs on this. There's a first.

As long as the droids aren´t working and the BH actually has to FIND the jedi (other then "just" locate) thats a point. As soon as they do, it

weakens a bit. On the other hand, the Jediwouldn´t have been online if not afk, thus not huntable as well. Discussable though.

The point I have it that while afk-macroing may be a cheap style, using the CM-method is definately griefplay. The whole setup makes

it almost impossible to do it unintended. I rate griefplay, be it for pure personal fun or outa frustration, way worse then being unattackable

at the drawback of being unable to run away.

The chance that the CM-kill is seen as an exploit and/or offense is also way higher as for the macro thing.

What about I sit in a private house, afk, to let me visibility decay (assuming it lowers with playtime) ? I have an advantage as well,

and any BH comming for me won´t get me, not even with a CM.

We are walking on thin ice here, both sides have arguments.Maybe we can an offical statement on both issues, might not satisfy us,

but at least we know what we are up to.

I know the DEV's have been busting down on the rooftop afk macroing, I have a friend that was doing it at night when he/she went to sleep, woke up the next morning kicked off the server with an e-mail from a DEV saying that it was considered an exploit and if caught again will have his/her account deleted.

I believe that if you wish to play this style (rooftop afk macro) then you run the risk of being killed using this exploit. If you get on the BH terminal through using the force in this manner and a BH finds you but can't complete their mission then you are griefing the BH. It is a fine line. I see that, for instance, if I get on a BH terminal and a BH finds me, but I run into water and sit it out then I am certainly stopping the BH from completing their mission. The difference is that we are both not advancing our characters. My jedi is not getting any xp at the time and neither is the BH. I treat this as a tactic. The problem with the rooftop thing is that I am getting xp while disrupting the gameplay of another profession. I think a death penalty for this is fair. The jedi stops getting xp although I guess the BH does not get his mission completed.

I haven't changed my mind that it is cheesy, but it has dawned on me that if these jedi have run out of crystals then the afk macroing is the only way to seriously get xp. So I will no longer belittle the technique, but the fact that there is danger in doing it should be kept.
