Thread: PERMA DEATH: the misunderstood pest control?
"I ahve jedi friends, and i can barely find them bearable, i know their veiwpoints and it isn't very good. And if you can understand what i am sayingtwith little spelling errors then why say soemthing, you know waht im saying. and who said i enjoyed killing jedi for the sake of the "hunt"? "
Your little spelling errors are like pin-holes in a ship. one or two dont hurt but thirty million sink it. its annoying and painful to the eyes to read horrible misspellings.
And if you cant bear your jedif riends, stop being friends with them. Do you have any idea how hard it is to do FS, then jedi? Its a brutal proffessian to grind and BH'ers dont make it any easier.

Count all of my 30 million and ur spelling ain't so great either. i know my msitakes do you?
I gotta ask harvey, how old are you? Your acting way immature to be over the age of 15.. i mean seriously, take a chill pill.. If you get all worked up over this, Id hate to see you deal with a marriage and kids.. People complain, your not going to stop it no matter what... I see some BH complain to but who cares.. Jedi gets owned by a BH he complains, a BH gets owned by a jedi he complains.. Its a 2 way street

it slowed it down? How? IT DID NOT DELETE THE JEDI TOON.. There will still be the jedi there no matter what.. Didnt reduce the population whatsoever.. The jedi is still there just has to start over so how did this reduce the population?
The originial jedi sales pitch included something like "an organic system where the number of jedi fluctuate over time". To figure out how that relates to perma-death, we need two players. Let's call them "Jedi Fanboi" and "Joe". Both have unlocked their jedi.
"Jedi Fanboi" gets killed enough to go perma-dead. He likes to be a jedi, swooshing about with his flashy glowstick, so he regrinds, picks up where he left of, and continues. Joe however, is really quite happy with being a TKM/Pike/Doc combo, but he has a jedi anyway. He grinds it up, runs around with it, dies and then - and here's where the system turns "organic" - he decides that he can't be arsed with regrinding at the moment.
A few weeks later, Joe decides that he'd like a glowstick for a bit, and regrinds his jedi. During the time when he plays is other character, there's one less jedi showing off in a starport near you. Hence, the visible population can be said to have decreased, without the player in question quitting. As opposed to now, when the number of visibile glowsticks only decrease as people quit.
The thought behind that system wasn't that bad. Anyone who really, really, really wanted to be a jedi would be allowed to; He just had to regrind at regular intervalls. The other mortals always had the option of trying jedi but if the desire to be one did not outweigh the lack of desire to grind, it remained just that, an option. As opposed to everyone and their dog getting one. Personally, I'm not sure whether I'd mind seeing the exp req's for jedi skills drastically reduced and then reintroduce perma-death.
Of course, saber TEF of some form (or a general "BH TEF". Like saber TEF, but only to between BH's and Jedi. Make it two-way and make it possible for the BH to toggle whether he wants in on it) that means jedi actually strive to hide most of time serves just aswell to reduce the visible population, and would quite frankly enhance the game experience a lot more than having to regrind at regular intervalls.

lets face it this game isn't the swg some of us started playing years ago, its Knights of the Old Republic online, i wanna see much less jedi and the only way that can happen is through the re-introduction of perma death.
I realise this is never gonna happen and that only bh's (and probably not all of us) want it but still, i wanted to say my piece.
we shouldn't see jedi in sp's fighting or in pvp battles at all, that is why they are given alts surely? so that they can be involved in normal play and their jedi can go off to their raves with the glowsticks.
If they re-introduce the force ranking system i hope it involves the jedi getting out of normal play in some way cos i'm sick of them.
When are the rest of us gonna get an elite ranking system to our professions? i want to aspire to something in the game but i don't want to be a jedi, all your left with is killing jedi or loot whording. DEVS, Give the non jedi proffesions a ranking system oh and bring back perma death so i can laugh at ppl even harder when i kill them.
THE END
id like to see other uber elite grindable proffessions too

There are more BH's than Jedi... Clickay. Everywhere I go, I see someone with the "Master Bounty Hunter" title and it just ruins the game for me. It would make more sense for BH's to lose their skills if they fail a mission. They can regrind their tempate alot easier than Jedi ever could. And it might actually keep the BH population in check.
post cu even more so, but even pre cu; it's not the profession, it's the player.....if you insist on using the word uber, and gotta throw elite behind it....that would make me Ultra-uber-elite....yes, I did put in the hours, days, weeks, months....yes I did kill krayt for hours, days, weeks....and yes, I am undefeated post CU against BH's....but ya know what? My BH has 8 victories for every loss....and not as a result of dirty tricks or shinanigans...your only as "uber" as your knowledge, adaptability, and dedication allows, regardless of template....those three qualities determine everything....its not about having the money for gear, its about getting the money....it's not about having the "best" template...it's about knowing YOUR template....and it's not about finding the "best" equipment...it's about equiping yourself to be the best YOU can be.
