Maybe you can't become a Padawan until you join the rebel faction (like the novice padawan description says), and then you have a permanent TEF? Seems the most logical to me...

It seems to me that if what monks wrote was accurate, the devs would have spent a little more time on their grammar...

"You are about to take your first steps in one of the ultimate journeys in Star Wars Galaxies...It is a very precarious time for users of the Force and your path to become a Jedi is wrought with danger and excitement...Before you begin there are a few important things to note. Jedi must train secretly and locating your personal trainer can sometimes be difficult. Use the command /findmytrainer to sense the location of your trainer. At times you may not be able to detect your trainer, if this happens wait a little while and try later...The dedication required to learn your Force abilities will take all of your personal resources. You will not be able to spend any time pursuing non Jedi related skills. Jedi skills also cannot be revoked. Choose your path carefully for once chosen there is no going back...Finally, the life of a Jedi is wrought with extreme risk. All Jedi are permanently PvP enabled. Act carefully as your actions could bring great and devastating repercussions. Jedi are extremely susceptible to the rigors of cloning. You will only be able to clone a limited number of times before you will no longer be able to be revived. Once you have died the final time you will no longer be able to continue your character. You can however choose to start again. You will retain your character's name and appearance, but all advancement will be lost. You will receive 3 clones before you meet your final death. Upon starting the path to Jedi Knight you will receive a 4th clone and a 5th once you start the path to Jedi Master...On behalf of the entire development team, thank you and continue enjoying your time in Star Wars Galaxies. May the Force be with you"

there you go. Rip it to pieces.

I have left the game, it's been fun everyone.

The Jedi forum was only for Jedi. The world would make sense to me. No more holocron talk. No more... What did you do to open your FS slot? How many Holos did you do? Did you do Themeparks? Did you visit every city.. blah, blah, blah, blah, freaking BLAH!!!!

Imagine... We could come here.. The few... The Proud.. The Jedi ... And talk about our dangerous paths... The bugs we have to deal with (for instance... was out on Dathomir yesterday.. w/ my 4/3/1/1 padawan... 0 deaths up to that point.. and boom! A nighsister spawns on top of me... one hits my jedi .. who is fully buffed and has 70% resistance Composite armor.. and Slains me... sigh.. if that isn't a bug.. i dont know what is..) We could also discuss what changes could be made to Jedi that would make the game better... for instance... Don't let us wear armor... but give us higher HAM and resists... give us better Terrain Negotiation.. Don't make our Lightsabers decay at the rate of something that has been dipped in Acid... Etc...

Yes.. What a world it would be... sigh...

Read the marksman and scout forums for how to master them, then use the bleed + grenade "bug" to gain the 40k combat xp, or just use your carbine/pistol to get up to 200k xp on each, and walla, novice BH is yourse.

Go to a high level planet and hop in a group with some CH's. You'll get decent weapon/combat exp and good scouting exp as well.

Here's the idea, trade in a certain amount of prestige points and put someone on a special "space bounty hunt" hitlist. Only masters can be put on there, and only masters can take the missions out on other masters. It will work somewhat like the bounty hunter board, but any master with enough prestige can participate. And any master with enough prestige can put one on a kill list. The target need not be a master. And the bounty hunter and the target need not be overt, it will be a bounty hunting TEF.

The main thing about this will be that players will have two possible scores. People they've hunted and how many times they've been successfully hunted.

No in faction killing. And it's only Rebel or Imperial. Neutrals will have to pick a side. Though both rebel and imperials can put bounties on Neutrals. The reasoning being that neutrals are not supposed to have the sort of power to put bounties on either the imperial or rebel navies.

This sort of thing will spice up the game. And would be a nice use of prestige. Ok, people start flaming.

No, would open the door far too much for possible grieving.

Kessel has been made PvE because people did not want to be forced to PvP when they did not want to.

It would just kill the fun for those people who got a bounty on their head, and they'll just quit flying.

There'sa reason player laid bounties have never gotten serious consideration, think about it a while and you'll agree.

The minute someone can pay (credits, prestige, whatever) to make me fight, is the minute I Cancel. I choose when I want to fight, and I don't want to force it on anyone or have it forced upon me. If I became a Jedi I would make the choice. If I were a Smuggler in a galaxy with a criminal system, I would make the choice then too.

The rewards for your idea, go to the infantile, and the bullies. The straight up honorable PvPers take on all comers anyway, and don't need to lay bounties on people. Everyone deserves downtime and this would eliminate that.

lol. It's about content. there are only true PvP'ers in space as far as I could tell, so there's really nothing to worry about in that respect. I don't know any master on my server who isn't aware that there are guys gunning for them. Hell, when my squadron flies up, my squadron commander sends mail out to all our oppposing imperial flight commanders that we're flying around up there.

but then again, I posted this as a "what if?" thread, so I hope other people have what ifs that would probably never make it live. I think the ideas can be interesting.

What if all the effort that has been spent over the last year developing TWO combat upgrades had instead been spent on balancing the original system and professions? I find it mind numbing the wasted effort that has been spent here.

Had they done that, done what we asked them to do, by now the game would be in excellent shape. Instead, they are tearing the building down AGAIN.

I don't know ..

Every so often it just smacks me in the head, why the hell did they bother giving us CU whcih introduced cooldowns and warmups on specials and really made combat sort of "turn-based" when they were planning to drop CU2 which does a total whiplash back towards Pre-CU combat and beyond? What a waste of time and effort. I hated CU at first but grew to enjoy and it wasn't long before I preferred it to Pre-CU.

I don't know about CU2 .. I'll keep an open mind and give it a chance.

But yeah .. I agree with you Fellis. Alot of wasted effort it seems, changing the game in one direction and then doing a total 180 and "dumbing down" of the old button smashing kind of style .. Only now you have to aim
