Hello all,
Just some advice as to what I do in my city, some of the stuff I doI learnt here- thanks to those who post!
1.) Be friendly to everyone- citizen and visitor alike, pays off dividends later.
2.) Be neutral as possible and unbiased. Our community thrives on the collective efforts of all the three factions combined as opposed the the efforts of one.
3.) Be there for the folks, respoind to tehir needs and tell them why you can't do the task they ask. Feed the truth, the Holocron never lies and they may look there to confirm your story.
4.) Updates- I try and send regular updates of what is going on, how far we are from meeting the next city level far as citizens go etc. We made 35 people for level 3 with 42 minutes to spare before the server update (Stellar Teamwork!)
5.) Informed choices far as militia- pick good members to be militia- just don't hand it out like candy. I went with solid folks who have been in game awhile. These folks do the city wonders!
6.) Balance your budget. Don't drop terminals, trainers and decorations like they are going out of style. A little forecasting goes a long way in ensuring the city supports itself. Week 1 we had to pay out of pocket for the city, the city has supported itself the last 2 weeks!
7.) Get you r citizens involved, let them how how the system of politician works and where the voting terminal is and the city management panel is. Those who give a damn will check it out and will be a good help to you if teh know what you are talking about!
8.) Use the mail system to communicate. Address an email to citizens ensures that everyone who is registered gets an email about what you need to tell them. ties into point 4 nicely as well!
9.) Give praise where praise is do, don't praise yourself- just get flamed
Week 1 we had 2 generous donations that supported our city for the scary week! We did 0-20 in that week far as citizens go..,
10.) Remember its a game and encourage your folks to have fun too, don't to be afraid to tell a citizen to wait (politiely) as you are off grinding the Brawler tree or off getting trained somewhere. mayors need to have fun too!
Hope the ten pieces of advice will help you other mayors out there, feel free to add your bits as we can only learn from each other and capitalize on each otehr successes and learn from each others failures.
Lets see moresuccess stories on the forum, we all know theres enough to be fixed!

We all know most Jedi do not like fire, so I have a question. Is BH 3040 M. Pistoleer Commando 0040 good to get?
Or shouldI get smuggler 0040 instead for the extra pistol special?
thanks for any help

I've currently reloaded up my old jedi after months of disappointment with my massive loss on the jedi.
All the jedi has is the 6 FS branches and no skills, it used to be a pre-pub 9 jedi and it lost all the skills and it gained -990,000 jedi xp.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on easy ways to grind all this back. I'll need to use my old trusty training saber and comp armor. I dont think it will get any vis due to the fact of it not having Jedi skills.
Any advice on how to grind this xp back quickly and safety would be much appreciated. I have tried asking CSR and supervisors for help and advice to reset or do something but they say i have to earn it the hard way. So i'm starting.

I never had any support proffesions due to having a full jedi template before i lost it all.
Yes i know jedi dont use armor now but for the past few days i've been using my comp armor and a beserk macro to hit animals a little harder. There is no point me using robes as i got no saber skills or other jedi skills for the force to be used.
I would like advice on animals or things i can do to quickly bring down this xp.

His jedi has no skills other than the the 6 Force sensitive skills. He unfortunately has negative Jedi skill points. He will have no specials to use so armor can be used.
My deepest condolances on grinding that many negative skill points. YOU DEFINATELY ARE WORTHY OF JEDI... my unlucky friend.

okay when they did the conversion after publish 9 they let everyone pick support professions, why didn't you? And what do you mean you lost it all you delete it?

I started getting hunted by Bounter hunters and i got annoyed cause of all the griefing and every day i tried to grind people would be selfish and not leave me alone so i went on terms so i got fed up and annoyed of losing stuff everyday nearly so i just deleted all the skills that was left.
I stopped playing it ages ago and i let a friend try to fix it when he was down and he grinded up master doc so i was able to buff and heal but a jedi without skills aint usefull when hunted by Bounty hunters on the new system so then there was the xp loss.
It's the first chance i've looked at the account since this, so it's time to blow the dust off the training saber and start grinding again.
I just want some direction into the things i should be killing which are easier and quick.

dire cats in Corellia.
But what was the results of the converstion? did you have a full Jedi template like master saber and stuff? if you didn't what happened to the normal skills? And why did you drop the remaining skills? like what was the logic behind it?

From what i can remember due to it being a long time ago i did have master saber because i still have my 4th gen polearm saber and a 3rd gen 2 handed saber in the inventory.
The other skills were healing and force run and stuff just the usual. I just got fed up with all the griefing and crap killing from the BH's and people flyin thru me when they knew i was using my saber and stuff just to get me hunted.
My friend was using the account during the time of the conversion so i dunno what he done.
When i went back to it i was kicking myself cause the jedi was great at it's time as alot of work went into making the template but u know a few bad players can spoil it for some and i guess i just got so annoyed at spending all the time and people wanna waste it.
So my fault at what happened to the template so i'm living with it and i'm gonna grind my way outa it anyway i can.
Thank you for the suggestion of Dire Cats, i tried them 2nite and was getting 180xp for a dire cat and the female was givin me 90x so i worked it out and i only need to kill 5446 Dire cats to clear the xp loss.
I killed huurton howlers i was able to do them and they gave me 500xp each and if i done them it would only take me 1960 huurton howlers. I was wondering if it would be ok to drive about finding spawns of huurtons on dantoonie and killing them but have my bike near incase i need to run.
