I was having too much of a problem until yesterday. 37k Health Double Chevron Gold CL 82 mark. I fought him for about 10 minutes before he encapped me and hit me with the DB. I'm an MBH/MRifleman Pistoleer 0404 Marksman 4404. Ruby Beil, duelist stance and synthsteaks are what usually get me throug these fights, this one just happen to hit me twice in a row for 925 damage. I was already below half on my Health, I wasn't paying attention like I should have been.

I love the challenge to these though

The challenges are great. I think it's pretty much safe to say that in order to consistently defeat the double gold chevron CL 82 boss marks you need to have some kind of healing in the CM line because of the healing efficiency it gives you. That along with some tactics, the right foods, good armor and a decent weapon. You can stim and ruby bliel yourself until you are blue in the face, but unless you have some tactics and some CM healing you won't consistently beat them.

I have never used Caf. Heck I don't even know what it is LOL. Sorry for my ignorance. This is what i use and it seems to do well.

Booster Blue, Spiced Tea, Blob Candy, Kanali Wafers, and Snow Cakes. Then I use Deuteurium Pyro for the gold boss marks for the added ranged accuracy, and I use synthsteak for the mitigation. I never drop below 50% health when fighting a boss mark.

Should I change up any foods? What I'm using right now seems to do ok.

No, it's not that bad... in fact, I might try Kanali instead of the Bofa and Caf if I find that the lower health regen isn't a concern. It will free up some of my drink bar (not really an issue) and I can't recall the last time my mind went low.

For you, Kanali and Spiced Tea are the better choice - I'm assuming you have medic skills based on that selection.

Yes I have CM 4000 along with my MBH and MCarbs.

I've never been beaten by one. You don't need healing if the mark can't hurt you. If he's knocked down, he can't hurt you. If he's suffering from the effects of Low Blow, Panic Shot, Eye Shot and Confusion Shot he's not hitting you as often and hurting you less when he does.

Medical skills are helpful but they are not a necessity to beat boss marks. The right equipment and tactics will suffice.

I don't have low blow or panic shot I don't think. I know I have confusion shot and Eye shot. Don't forget that I am a MCH as well, so I don't have another "elite" combat profession such as Carbineer or Pistols.

If you're a healer, you make up for that with your healing skills - but I'm merely trying to point out that they are not necessary fopr success. A BH does not need to be a CM to beat bosses - I'm proof of that.

Yes I hear ya. Everyone is different with their tactics and what armor/equipment they have. I for one have OK armor...nothing great. It's a set of imperial stormtrooper battle armor with something like 6300 energy resists. I have no CA's in my clothing and no AA's on my armor simply for the reason that I don't have any ADK's and I find it pointless to slap on a AA if it will eventually just decay. I can't afford to buy ADK's yet but I'm working on it. Once I can afford to buy ADK's then I'll get a good set of armor and then apply AA's, etc. As far right now what works for me is the tactics, the food/drinks, especially the sythsteaks..those can be a lifesaver, and of course my healing. I sometimes go visit your friendly neighborhood master doc and get buffs before hunting. Everything helps. I haven't died from a double gold chevron boss yet....knock on wood.

ahhh... got it now. I'm not CM 4/0/0/0 yet, I just have the novice box in CM. Do you think getting that branch up will be a huge difference?

Considering that you don't have any non-BH specials, I'd recommend finding some good pets that can help out, preferably with useful specials. Either use them to tank so you aren't taking the damage or use them to boost your damage.

Build up your CM healing tree if you have the points to spare, it can't hurt.

It will certainly help. Also make sure you eat the right foods. I've never been a MCH so I don't know any tactics with that profession as I am a MBH, MCarb, CM 4000 and what i do is this:

Start out by clicking my duelist stance macro. Then right before I do my first KD, I drink deuterium pyro (added accuracy) and i eat synthsteak (mitigation so I dont take as much dmg), then KD, then I do Imp Leg shot, and adv crit shot (my 2 best dmg shots), then torso shot (good dmg + bleed dot), then confusion (dizzy + stun), then do another leg and crit shot and by that time my duelist stance and KD cooldown timers have reset and click those macros again.

Rinse and Repeat with healing myself in between. If you have room in your belly, reapply synthsteak as it only lasts 40 seconds I believe...can't remember but it's not long.

Thats what I do and I kill bosses every time. Remember to keep duelist stance on you AT ALL times. Every time the timer is up refresh it again...make a macro for it...very important and you will notice the mark misses you alot more. Also the KD ...very important..the more he's lying on the ground the less damage you take. Also while he's lying on the ground, he takes more dmg from you so thats why you need to do your 2 best dmg shots on him at that time.

I wish you best of luck my friend.

I am most definately working on my CM branch. As for the pets, it's not as easy anymore to just tame a pet and when it grows up you cn go to battle with it and it really helps you. Now you have to grind pet exp up in order to gain skill points which you can use to gain specials for your pet. The specials you can either learn by taming and fighting with a pet or getting a MCH to train you in that particular special so that you can train your pets.

Okay, I found a PSG vendor, but I am unable to see the stats of them. How long do PSGs last?

Edit: I bought one of each, a low price one and a high price one. The high price one is a energy protection of 2098 and a recharge rate over 52. Is this good?
