Thread: What is your opinion on the publish 20 bh terminals?
drfeelgood9 wrote:
Pub 20 is the bh terminals that only show faction and on/offline status. will this make it more exciting for bh or a death sentence to some?
without a link to the In Testing forum this can just be filed under "looking into it". I would strongly oppose these changes though.

I read the forums everyday for updates, and upcoming changes, Publishes, ect. An I havnt seen anything where it says that this is going to be implemented in Publish 20.

Get a hold of a TRE reader. Patch 18 already had some of the files for the new BH system in it. They are not complete yet, but there were penalties for not completing the mission within the deadline and mission failure.
You wanted Jedi weaker, I guess it came with a price.

Ok. But I dont understand how that confirms anything that the original poster stated about Pub 20.
Im sure it is the making, or atleast something similar, but it still isnt implemented yet. Unless someone has some Behind the scenes information.
Doesn't matter if it's publish 20, 20.5, or 21, it's very likely going to happen, so it seems. ![]()

the point is to limit the amount of exp the lowbies get, why would i care if a full template lost a little exp when i can keep a lowlevel from even getting there?keep the names on the terms, better yet only list the missions of jedi that are online, kills two birds with one stone.
Wrongo daddio. The point is not to limit the amount of exp the lowbies get, the point is to have fun. This is a game. You are not the police, you are merely a player... just like the lowbies mentioned. Sorry, no more easy mode for you =/

From a RP standpoint it totally sucks - makes no sense at all and I play both Jedi & BH.
You mis-use your RP whine.
Did the spynet informant in ANH tell the stormtroopers, "OMG I just saw obi-wan slice someones hand off with a lightsaber!" probably not... he doesn't know who obi-wan is. He probably went up to the stormtroopers and said "Hey, the guy with greyhair, two droids, and a kid was swinging a lightsaber in the cantina! He went thattaway" The imperial/rebel information has nothing to do with RP. It is just to make it easier for people who don't want to hunt their same faction (hurt their ranks).
Now in the game terms it comes out like this. You go to the terminal to find avaliable bounties... you see one issued by the Empire (hiding under an alias) stating "Bounty Request #3344456 A jedi seen killing civilians." The empire doesn't know his name, just knows that he was doing something wrong. You go to the spynet operators and say "Can I have the information to Bounty request #3344456?". "Yes, here is his bioreading and a picture from a security camera, use your droids to track him down".
You are supposed to be the emotionless bounty hunter right? The one who says "all the matters is that I get payed"? Well then what do you care what the bounties name is, all you need is his location and most likely a physical discription."
In real life when people call the police to report a robbery or a shooting do the police ask "what was his name?" NO! Because most likely you don't know who the criminal is! They ask for a physical discription.

Very true. I agree.
Just because its on the TRE files doesnt mean its going to happen anytime soon.. If you read the older files they contain info that never came to flourishion

Thats actually a very good argument. Kudos for that..
However we are not talking about 21st century Earth. In an advanced galaxy like SWG is supposed to be, you can bet that if an informant has your Bio, they pretty much know who you are.
In what I get from your argument (Wich is good), youre talking about common "domestic" (for lack of a better word) situations that are handled by the local authorities. Not something that would warrent the services of a Bounty Hunter.
I see a situation that calls for a Bounty Hunter going something like this..
Jabba telling a group of Bounty Huntere: Some Bantha Fodder Jedi calling himself Luke Skywalker, broke into my palace, killed my pet Rancor, took my favorite frozen smuggler (Han), freed my favorite slave girl (Liea), and her Wookie friend Chewbacca, and Killed my Best Bounty Hunter!! 200k to the Bounty Hunter who brings me his head!
Now I know that, that particular situation I just described doesnt apply to all the Player Jedi in SWG, but thats the way I see Bounty Hunters and the type of missions they would take. Knowing who they are after, and how much they are getting paid.

they should also place a 30 sec timer on each mission...you'll have to find the jedi in 30 seconds or less
lol It takes longer than that to Hyperspace to Kashyyk
OhBuggah wrote:The original poster is TROLLING. The only mention of anonymizing Jedi missions came from fanfest where the Devs said they were "considering" it as an option to get Jedi vs. BH encounters one on one.

People need to stop hanging on every word a dev utters off the top of his head in front of a crowd of jedi fanbois at a conference.
And the original poster is a troll, read his follow up posts.
